Realism :

It is a movement that originated in the second half of the nineteenth century in France.

Realism means depicting things and relationships, as clearly as they are in the real world. This

period saw many other literary movements that existed side by side, such as naturalism. Despite

the differences that existed between the writers of this period, there was one desire that combined

them, that they depicted life in their writing realistically. In the literature of realism, we find an

increasing question about the meaning of this world and the meaning of human life The focus

was on the bourgeois world . There was an interest in portraying the daily life of simple people

(such as farmers, workers, and craftsmen). And realists took nature as a backdrop for their

literary works. Realism has abandoned the need for the writer's feelings and his own attitude to

be reflected in what he writes. The world must be portrayed without any attempts at

interpretation, and without any bias towards one position or another, whenever possible

Returning. to history was among the methods used by realists. Where events take place in an age

that is identical to the present era, then the writer will be free to express his thoughts, without

being exposed to the present era. Realist writers wrote theater, novel, stories "la Nouvelle" and

poetry. However, the novel and the stories had the largest share of their writings.
