Guidelines for the preparation of question paper

Ensure that you have followed the approved syllabus.


Set the question paper for the full syllabus covering all the units uniformly.
Use the given template for the preparation of the question paper. If needed add sections by copying rows from the
template.
General Instructions indicate the instruction for the whole of the question paper.
Specific instructions can also be given for each section.
Give the do not break continuity when going to the next section.

Module NO.: Type the Module Number as given in the syllabus like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
CO: Fill-up appropriate COS (Course Outcomes) for each question as it is vital for further marks analysis.
BL -4 (BL1- Remember, BL2- Understand, BL3- Apply, BL4- Analyse)
Difficulty Level: Easiness of the question in the grade Easy/ Average/Tough (HOT) or E/A/T. The recommended
proportion of the questions should be 25%:50%:25% respectively to ensure the normal distribution.

Additional questions can be optionally given for each Unit so that in case of rejection of a question, alternatives can be
used.
A detailed explicit key is mandatory along with question paper. Without the key, question paper will not be accepted.
The same will be made accessible to students immediately after the completion of examination for reference and possible
reevaluation.

All paper setters are requested to keep their appointments strictly confidential.
The Question paper should be such that a candidate of decided ability and good preparation in that course can reasonably
be expected to answer completely within the allotted time.
Ensure that the questions are not used in previous examinations or anywhere else like model question paper.
Ensure that the questions are balanced in terms of syllabus coverage, marks and time taken to answer each question.
The detailed answers for all the questions are to be given in the key (scheme of valuation) in softcopy either as Word/
pdf/ scanned images (TIF/JPG/PNG).
Follow the time schedule since many follow up activities like moderation, formatting, printing out the question paper rely
on your punctuality.
