NOTEBOOK MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Student,

To help you stay organized and do well in your studies, please follow these important
rules for maintaining your notebooks:

 Write neatly and in a legible manner.


 Maintain an index page and update the same regularly
 Do not split the notebook for grammar work separately; write in continuation.
 Use a blue pen for writing and pink pen for rewriting the work instructed by your teacher.
 Black pen can be used only for highlighting/heading.
 Maintain notebook neatly. Avoid scribbling or untidy work.
 Write date on the left-hand margin.
 Start every new lesson on a new page. Write the name of the unit on top of the page.
 Write the ’Learning Objective’ at the beginning of every lesson and reflect on the achievement of the
same.
 If rubrics/ worksheets are provided, paste them neatly into the notebook.
 Start each question on a new line. Leave one line space after each answer or between different sections.
 Initial self-evaluation/ correction and peer-evaluation correction.
 Always highlight/ underline and write in capital letters the following heading in the notebook-
LEARNING OBJECTIVE/ CLASSWORK/ HOMEWORK/ CHALLENGING TASK/ REAL-LIFE
APPLICATION
 Avoid using ink correctors or white ink.
 Avoid folding and tearing pages of the notebook.
 No doodling or drawing unless instructed.
 Draw all illustrations/ pictures neatly.
 Use a ruler to draw lines for underlining/ margins/ tables/ flowcharts, etc.
 If absent, complete the work promptly and get it checked.
Take pride in your work as it reflects your attitude and efforts!
