Document Conventions
Throughout this manual, we use the following conventions to guide you through the lab materials:
Style or Symbol Indicates
Words in Bold Italics An item or button that you must click on or a menu name from which you
must choose an option or command. This will be the actual name of an
item that you see on your screen or in an example.
Words or phrases ‘in italics and single quotes’ An item that you must type in the specified field. This information must be
supplied based on the application (e.g., a variable).
Note: When you type the text in the field, remember that you only need
to type the word(s) within the quotes.
Note: If the mouse button is not specified in the text, use the left button.

1: Look at the Default Architecture View and Convert to New Architecture View (about 10 minutes)
If you don’t see the Open button, then right click on the file and select Open.
The Wizard View tab opens showing the project subsystems:

2. Select File Save Workspace As and save the project as C:\Program Files\PST\RA_IAB\Labs\Architecture
View\Arch_View_Lab.iab:
3. Click the Hardware tab and inspect the Hardware Tree. Notice that the project includes not only the hardware generated for
the subsystems, but also manually added ArmorPoint, ArmorBlock, and ControlLogix items:

4. Click the Network tab. Notice that the project contains a CompactLogix subsystem DeviceNet network, a ControlLogix
subsystem ControlNet network, and another DeviceNet network.

Notice that:
In IAB version 9.3 and higher (which you are running now), the traditional Architecture View has been replaced by a
more dynamic, functional view. Existing projects (like the IAB Lab Project you are looking at now) will not show network
connections, text labels, areas, and enclosures in the Architecture View. Existing projects can be updated to the new
architecture view as shown starting in step 9.
All the hardware items listed in the hardware tree are shown in the architecture view, including the ControlLogix chassis
in the upper left corner of the architecture view that is not connected to any networks.
6. Use the zoom slider on the toolbar to zoom the Architecture View as large as you can:

7. Try using the World View to move around the Architecture View. Move the cursor over the box in the World View window,
hold down the left mouse button and drag the box to reveal a different portion of the Architecture View:
8. Click the World View button on the Architecture tool bar to hide the World View window.
a. Right-click anywhere in the Architecture View and select Convert to new style Architecture View…

10. You can move devices around in the Architecture View so they are positioned as you wish. This can be done for both
individual items and groups of items. Use the zoom slider to reduce the size of the Architecture View until you can see all of
the devices in it. Try moving an individual item: click and drag the ArmorPoint 3 chassis to a new location:
Click-drag-release
11. To move multiple items at once, click and drag a dotted-line box around a group of items:

After releasing the mouse button, the item names within the box will be highlighted in blue:
Click on any of the chassis images and drag the highlighted group to anywhere within the Architecture View:
Click-drag-release
Since you selected the entire network, IAB moves the network along with the devices you selected. If you select only part of
a network, IAB leaves the network in its original position but maintains the connections to the moved devices.
12. You can also repath, or redraw, the networks in the Architecture View.
Right-click on the network path for Aux Lab DeviceNet and click Repath Aux Lab DeviceNet in the menu:
All chassis not on this network will be grayed out and a tip window will hover near the cursor:

13. You can reset to the default Architecture View at any point by right-clicking in the view and selecting Reset to default
locations. By doing this, you will lose all changes you have made to the network up to this point. Try this now. Click the
menu item, answer Yes to the dialog that appears, and proceed to the next step to add a new Ethernet/IP network.
Important: The Reset to default locations menu item applies to the entire architecture view.
14. Add a new Ethernet/IP network by clicking the New Network button on the toolbar:

15. Under the Communication Networks folder select Ethernet/IP. Accept the default network name (EtherNet/IP001), keep the
selection at Standalone Ethernet/IP network, and uncheck the Start with Switch Wizard checkbox:

17. Click the Architecture tab again, and notice that the EtherNet/IP switch has been added to the bottom of the view. The
switch is not currently connected to any devices.
18. Right-click on the unconnected ControlLogix device in the lower left corner of the architecture view and select
Go to Clogix001:

19. IAB opens the Chassis View. Drag a 1756-EN2T and a 1756-CN2 from the Scanner folder to the chassis:
20. Right-click the 1756-EN2T and select Connect to EtherNet/IP network > Connect ’.’ to EtherNet/IP001 > Switch001:

An icon will appear on the bottom of the 1756-EN2T module, indicating that it is now connected to
Switch001 (if the icon does not appear, click the Connections button in the network view toolbar):
21. Right-click the 1756-CN2 and select Connect to ControlNet network > Connect ‘A’ to CLX Subsystem 1_Cnet:
An icon will appear below the 1756-CN2 indicating it is now connected to CLX Subsystem 1_Cnet:

22. Click the Architecture tab. IAB now shows the connections to the EtherNet/IP and ControlNet networks:
23. In EtherNet/IP001, drag a ring topology from the Topology folder in the EtherNet/IP device list to the Switch001 view.

24. From the Adapter folder in the device list, drag two 1734-AENT and two 1734-AENTR modules to the ring topology.
25. Check the architecture view to see what the ring looks like. IAB shows the connections to the ring, including the ETAP
modules, and shows the ring closure with a dotted line. The 1783-ETAP is used with devices (in our case the 1734-AENT)
that don’t have a second Ethernet port with DLR or Device Level Ring. Whereas the 1734-AENTR has the second Ethernet
port with DLR.

Note: Some of the chassis may appear to be crowded together. You can adjust this by click-dragging them to a different
location on the Architecture View.
34. Move CLX Subsystem 1_CLogix001 from the upper right corner back with the other chassis in the subsystem.
In the Architecture View, draw an enclosure box around the ControlLogix susbystem’s chassis (move the cursor to the
location of one corner of the box, then hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor to create the box, then release
the mouse button). When you let go of the mouse button, IAB adds the enclosure bounding box to the view:
