English Module: Introducing Myself

First grade
General Objectives:

 Develop basic communication skills in English.


 Build students' confidence in introducing themselves in English.
 Introduce simple vocabulary and phrases related to personal introductions.

Specific Objectives:

 Students will be able to say their name and age in English.


 Students will learn to ask and answer basic questions about personal
introductions.

Introduction:

In this module, students will learn to introduce themselves in English. We will start
with simple phrases like "My name is..." and "I am ... years old." We will also practice
talking about our interests. This module is designed to be interactive and fun, using
games, songs, and activities to help students feel comfortable speaking in English.

En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenderán a presentarse en inglés. Comenzaremos


con frases simples como "My name is..." y "I am ... years old." También practicaremos
cómo hablar sobre nuestros intereses. Este módulo está diseñado para ser interactivo
y divertido, utilizando juegos, canciones y actividades para ayudar a los estudiantes a
sentirse cómodos hablando en inglés. Y puedan poner en practica las habilidades
linguisticas

Module Summary:

This module focuses on developing personal introduction skills in English. Over two
weeks, students will participate in activities that allow them to practice and improve
their ability to talk about themselves. At the end of the module, students will
complete a final project where they introduce themselves to the class.

Activities with Language Skills:

Listening: Listening to songs and simple dialogues about personal introductions.

Speaking: Practicing introductions in pairs and groups.


Reading: Reading short texts about personal introductions.

Writing: Writing simple sentences about themselves.

Initial and Development Activities (2 weeks):

Week 1: Day 1: Starter Activity – “Hello, My Name Is…”


Objective: Introduce themselves using “My name is…”.

 Ball Game: Children pass a ball and say, “Hello! My name is…” when they catch
it.
 Song: “Hello! What’s Your Name?”

Day 2: My Age in English


Objective: Learn to say their age with “I am … years old.”

 Number flashcards (1-10) for children to practice their age.


 Interactive game: Each child forms a group with classmates of the same age
and practices together.

Day 3: Vocabulary of Likes and Preferences or interests


Objective: Express preferences or inwith “I like…”.

 Flashcards with images of colors, animals, food, and toys.


 “I Like Bingo” game using images of their favorite things.

Day 4: Guided Conversation


Objective: Practice basic questions and answers.

 Pair activity: One child asks, “What’s your name?” and the other answers.
 Partner rotation to interact with different classmates.

Day 5: Review and Reinforcement


Objective: Reinforce learning from the week.

 Mini presentation: Each child says their name, age, and something they like.
 Short story: Hello, I Am Tommy! followed by comprehension questions.

Week 2: Application and Final Project

Day 6: Grammar and Writing Reinforcement


Objective: Practice basic sentence structures.

 Worksheet with fill-in-the-blank sentences:


✅ My name is ______.
✅ I am _____ years old.
✅ I like ______.

Day 7: Listening and Comprehension


Objective: Improve listening comprehension.

 Audio with short dialogues of children introducing themselves.


 Answer simple questions about the audio.

Day 8: Critical Thinking and Comparison


Objective: Encourage reflection on similarities and differences.

 Group activity where children compare their name, age, and likes with
classmates.

Day 9: Final Project Preparation


Objective: Create a personal poster with drawings and introduction sentences.

 Each child prepares a poster with:


✅ “My name is…” (with their photo or drawing)
✅ “I am … years old.”
✅ “I like…” (with drawings of their favorite things)

Day 10: Final Project Presentation


Objective: Present their work to the class.

 Each child presents their poster, saying their sentences in English.


 The class claps and reinforces confidence in speaking.
Description: Students will introduce themselves to the class using the phrases and
vocabulary they have learned.

Evaluation Criteria:

Clarity and Pronunciation: Does the student speak clearly and pronounce words
correctly?

Use of Vocabulary: Does the student use the learned vocabulary and phrases?

Confidence: Does the student appear confident while introducing themselves?

Creativity: Does the student add interesting details about themselves?
