🚀 Leapfrog Interview Q&A (Full Stack Developer Role)

👤 Interviewer: Let’s start. Tell me about yourself.

👨‍💻 You:
Sure , I’m SUSHANKA Lamichhane—a full-stack web developer with hand on skills
like HTML, CSS and JavaScript and react for my frontend and I use nextjs and
express for my backend . I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in IT and love building
clean, functional, and well-designed solutions. I’m a quiet but consistent learner
who enjoys solving problems, working both independently and in teams, and
improving every day—especially in communication and new technologies.

👤 Interviewer: What is your experience with front-end development

technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript?
👨‍💻 You:
I’ve worked with all of them from the start. I build layouts using semantic HTML
and style them using CSS and Tailwind. Tailwind helps me build responsive and
clean designs fast.
JavaScript is the core of my frontend logic. I use it for user interaction, API calls,
and dynamic UI with React. I’m also comfortable with newer features like ES6,
async/await, and arrow functions.

👤 Interviewer: Can you discuss a challenging project you worked on and how
you overcame obstacles?
👨‍💻 You:
Yes once I had a problem with real-time data not showing correctly in a frontend
app. The UI didn’t update properly after changes.
After checking, I found that the state management was not set up well. I fixed it by
organizing the state with custom hooks and avoiding unnecessary re-renders. It was
a great learning experience in handling dynamic data and clean architecture.

👤 Interviewer: How do you ensure cross-browser compatibility and

responsiveness in web design?
👨‍💻 You:
I follow mobile-first and responsive design using Tailwind CSS, Flexbox, and Grid. I
test designs on different screen sizes using dev tools in Chrome and Firefox. I also
open the site in Safari and Edge to make sure it works well everywhere.
If something breaks, I fix it using media queries or browser-specific tweaks.

👤 Interviewer: Have you worked with any web development frameworks or

content management systems (CMS)? If so, which ones?
👨‍💻 You:
Yes, I use React and Next.js for frontend frameworks. I also build backend APIs
using Express. I haven’t used WordPress much, but I’ve created blog-like systems
using Firebase where content can be added, updated, and displayed like a CMS.
So while I haven’t used a traditional CMS, I’ve built custom solutions that work
similarly.

👤 Interviewer: Can you explain the importance of web accessibility and how
you ensure your websites are accessible?
👨‍💻 You:
Accessibility makes websites usable for everyone, including people with disabilities.
I use proper tags like <label>, <alt> on images, and make sure the colours have
enough contrast.
I also check if my site can be used with a keyboard and if screen readers can
understand it. Good accessibility also improves user experience for everyone.

(personality version)

👤 Interviewer: Why are you interested in this position/company?

👨‍💻 You:

I’m really interested in working at Leapfrog because I’ve seen that your company builds
amazing products and supports learning and growth. I like the idea of working in a team that
values innovation and wants to make real impact. It seems like a great place for me to learn,
grow, and contribute.

👤 Interviewer: What are your strengths?

👨‍💻 You:

One of my main strengths is problem-solving. I enjoy finding solutions and fixing issues in a
simple and clean way. I also learn new tools and technologies quickly.

Another strength is time management. I’m good at organizing my tasks, setting priorities, and
meeting deadlines. I plan my work so I can stay focused and avoid last-minute stress.

I’m also consistent and reliable I always try to finish what I start and do it the best I can.

👤 Interviewer: What are your weaknesses?

👨‍💻 You:
My biggest weakness is communication. I’m introverted and sometimes hesitate to
speak up in meetings or explain things in a group.
But I’ve been improving by joining group tasks, sharing my thoughts even if I’m
unsure, and learning to speak more clearly and confidently.
👤 Interviewer: Can you walk me through your resume?

👨‍💻 You:

Sure. I started by learning frontend skills like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Then I moved on
to using React and Next.js for more advanced frontend work. I also learned backend tools
like Express and Firebase.

I’ve built several small projects, like a blog platform and a password manager. I’ve taken
online courses and joined workshops too. Right now, I’m studying IT, and I’m looking for a
real work environment where I can grow, like Leapfrog.

👤 Interviewer: How do you handle challenges or conflicts in the workplace?

👨‍💻 You:

When there’s a challenge or something unclear, I try to stay calm and ask questions early so
that everyone is on the same page. I believe it’s better to clarify things right away instead of
making assumptions.

If there’s a conflict, I listen to the other person’s point of view first. I try to understand their
perspective, then share my thoughts politely. I believe most issues can be solved through
honest and respectful communication, and by focusing on the goal, not the disagreement.

👤 Interviewer: Tell me about a time when you demonstrated

leadership/initiative.
👨‍💻 You:
When I am in a team project, no one was sure where to start. I took the lead,
created a GitHub repo, set up the file structure, and divided tasks. That gave
everyone a clear path and helped us work better as a team.

👤 Interviewer: How do you prioritize tasks and manage your time

effectively?
👨‍💻 You:
I list out tasks and sort them by importance. I break big work into small steps and
set deadlines for myself. I usually do hard or urgent tasks first, then move to lighter
ones.
I also use tools like Notion or Trello to stay organized.

👤 Interviewer: Describe a situation where you had to work under pressure.
👨‍💻 You:
Once I had to fix backend issues just hours before a demo. The app wasn’t working
as expected, and time was short. I stayed calm, focused on fixing the key bugs,
tested quickly, and pushed the changes.
The demo went well, and I learned how to stay focused even under stress.

👤 Interviewer: How do you handle constructive feedback?

👨‍💻 You:
I appreciate it. Feedback helps me grow. I listen carefully, take notes, and try to
apply it in my work. I also ask follow-up questions to make sure I understood it
right.
Over time, feedback has helped me improve both technically and personally.

👤 Interviewer: Why should we hire you?

👨‍💻 You:
Because I’m passionate, hard-working, and always improving. I learn quickly, solve
problems well, and enjoy building useful things.
I want to grow with Leapfrog and contribute to projects that make a real impact.

👤 Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in five years?

👨‍💻 You:
In five years, I want to be a strong full stack developer, leading projects or
mentoring others. I also want to improve my communication and be more active in
tech communities or open-source work.
