Introduction
This study primarily focuses on how community members’ behaviors can have a
significant impact on not only our environment but also their health. With the compost pit
and shredder that should have plan, the barangay’s carbon footprint and smoke pollution
would be lessened. This is a guarantee from the community that they will stop burning
their trash. In our barangay the most common problem is the improper waste disposal
which could affect the current living of the residents. These issues have the potential to
affect not just the locals but also the ecosystem. The residents’ understanding of their
existing circumstances is derived from personal experience. Even though they were able
to advise others who could encounter similar circumstances by carefully sorting their
waste, they were forced to incinerate their rubbish since they lacked the finances to pay
for garbage truck collection.

Waste disposal is one of the most important industries in the world. Without
waste disposal, the massive production industries produce too much and quickly destroy
the environment. This is apparent when you consider how improper waste disposal
affects the environment. If you want a better understanding of why waste disposal is so

obstruction of drains and loss of biodiversity.

products. Following proper waste disposal procedures will result in less pollution and
environmental hazards. Not only does improper waste disposal lead to unsightly

Theoretical Framework
Theoretical Framework is used to guide the analysis and interpretation of data in a
case study. It provides a clear explanation of the key concepts, variables, and
relationships that are relevant to the research questions. The Theory on Waste
Management (2004) by E. Pongrácz, P. S. Phillips, and R. L. Keiski is used as a reference
through the progression of the study. In this study I also used reference is the Solid Waste
Management by the World Bank Organization.
A law in the Philippines approved by the Office on the President on January 26,
2001 was created in response to the rapidly growing rate of garbage problem in the
country caused by improper waste disposal. Unfortunately, even though there is a law,
improper waste disposal in the Philippines was ranked 3rd a top source of water
contamination in a study on February 2015. Also REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9003 said an act
providing for an ecological solid waste management program, creating the necessary
institutional mechanisms and incentives, declaring certain acts prohibited and providing
penalties, appropriating funds therefor, and for other purposes.

People are suffering environmental dilemmas such as global warming, flash
floods, and etc. and the causes of these problem is the misbehavior of the people towards

since the fire might spread and destroy neighboring trees, wooden structures, and

since burning waste releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which in turn pollutes
the air. The state of the globe is currently dire, and issues like these need to be addressed

effects on future generations of humans. Given these two connected issues that could
arise in the residents of barangay would endure hardships in with reference to their source
of income, farming. Since the atmosphere. Completely shattered plants or grains that
farmers are cultivating will also cause them to die quickly.
Disposing of waste has huge environmental impacts and can cause serious
problems. Proper garbage disposal is important to ensure everyone’s safety from possible
health hazards. People will suffer in the next years of existence if we continue this kind
of activity. There are causes and effects of improper waste disposal. Some causes of
improper waste disposal are: People are unaware of consequences of their irresponsible
acts. People are not following the correct rules of proper waste disposal. People throw the
garbage in what place they want and they have no care what will be the effect of it.
People are burning plastic instead of keeping it and recyclable it.
The effects of Improper waste disposal are: The soil contamination does not only
affect plant growth, it is also unhealthy to humans and animals feeding on those plants.
The skin irritation and blood infections resulting from direct contact with waste, and
transmitting bacteria from waste to infected wounds. Waste that releases dioxins are also
dangerous and pose a health risk when they diffuse into the air that we breathe.
Some of the residents in our barangay burned their garbage. Their garbage is the
current problem that is visible in our barangay, removal and lack of a garbage truck.
