How to find Magnetic Media Line value in Tax Reporter

Purpose

Explain the steps to find the Magnetic Media Line values in Tax reporter.

Overview
Lets take an example say you have run the W2 you like to know from where Mag media values is coming in TEMSE file, for this we
need to find what is the field attached to particular line.
Transaction PU19 → W-2 - Wage and Tax Statement → Log Manager → TemSe Files

3. Lets say you want to know how the value comes in field "Federal Income tax withheld" in Location 25.

You have two options:

a. Select File Structure:

b. Go to Transaction SPRO → SAP Reference IMG → Payroll → Payroll USA → Tax Reporter → Tax Form Definition and select
"Define original tax forms":

Choose Event 0006 "RT -Total Record" ( as we want to see the "RT -Total Record " value in Magnetic Media), click on "Magnetic
Tape Structure" in the left hand side:

There are two fields which are relevant for determining the value for the Location: "Take from field" and "Or Directly".

Take from field: you can get values from Tax Form Field, Infotypes, or Table V_T5UX9.

Or Directly: any information you fill here will be showed in the Magnetic Media.

In case of Infotype, the mapping is as shown below, system will take the value directly from the Infotype table P0002-PERIOD and
the Or directly is the dollar routine to be considered:

If the Take from field is mapped to table T5UX9, it picks up the value from the table for the field value which is maintained, details

Lets take an example say you have run the W2 and you like to know from where Box 2 values are coming, for this we need to find
what is the field mapped to Box 2.

1) Go to transaction SFP select the W2 form HR_F_W2_MULT_11, Layout tab and Object Binding for the Box 2, you will find the field
name T002:

2) In transaction PU19, select to log manager fields Form number will be used to check the PCL4 cluster:

3) In transaction PU19 → Menu "Utilities" → Display form fields → enter the Form number used

9) In transaction PC_PAYRESULT you can check the values from the wage type.

Note : Tax Reporter always reads the information from RT table and not from CRT or TCRT.

10) You can use the Reconciliation Report (program RPCPRRU0) that shows the value from Wage type /401 for the whole year.

Testing Election Period Screen ESS Page

Online W-2 provides an Employee Self-Service (ESS) scenario to allow the employees to choose whether they want to receive their
Forms W-2/W-2c via paper or to have them available online. Additionally, it is possible for the HR administration to create and
check an election directly in transaction PA30.

The election process is launched by WebDynpro Application HRESS_A_PER_US_ONLINE_W2.

However, in cases if the administrator wants to test the period of election directly from the “Election page” instead connecting to
portal, this process allow the administrator to view the content of the Election page for W-2/W-2C.

1) Create a record in the IT0105 (communications) subtype 0001 (System user name (SY-UNAME) using the userid):

After selecting the option, the user will be prompted to confirm the election. After this, the election is stored in the back end in the
Online Election (3228) infotype, with subtype W2.

Testing Reporting Period Screen on ESS Page

Once the employee is elected to view the W-2/W-2C form through ESS Portal page, the reporting functionality can be tested as
well, the forms W-2/W-2C can be displayed in the IT3228. The process is similar as described in the section above, using the same
Package to test the Web Dynpro application.

The ESS is launched with ABAP WebDynpro Application HRESS_A_REP_US_ONLINE_W2.

1) Go to transaction SE80 → Package PAOC_ESS_PER_US

2) Expand the node Web Dynpro → FPM Applications → HRESS_A_REP_US_ONLINE_W2 - Reporting of Online W-2 → FPM
Application Configurations → HRESS_AC_REP_US_ONLINE_W2 → Test
