1. General Electrical Safety


✅ Are all electrical panels accessible (not blocked by equipment/storage)?
✅ Are panel covers securely in place with no exposed wiring?
✅ Are circuit breakers/fuses correctly labeled?
✅ Are GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets installed in wet/damp locations?
✅ Are extension cords used only temporarily (not as permanent wiring)?
✅ Are power strips and surge protectors used properly (not overloaded or daisy-chained)?

2. Wiring & Equipment Condition


✅ Are all electrical cords free from damage (fraying, cracks, burns)?
✅ Are cables properly secured (not hanging or creating trip hazards)?
✅ Are junction boxes, outlets, and switches covered securely?
✅ Are there signs of overheating (discoloration, burning smell) near outlets/wiring?
✅ Are equipment grounding conductors (EGCs) intact and properly connected?

3. Electrical Panel & Switchgear


✅ Are electrical panels labeled with voltage and hazard warnings?
✅ Are working spaces around panels clear (minimum 3 feet of clearance)?
✅ Are unused openings in panels properly sealed (no missing knockouts)?
✅ Are emergency shut-off switches clearly marked and accessible?

4. Portable Equipment & Tools


✅ Are portable tools and equipment inspected regularly for damage?
✅ Are tools with damaged cords or casings taken out of service immediately?
✅ Are all tools properly grounded or double-insulated?
✅ Are employees using PPE (insulated gloves, safety glasses) when required?

5. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures


✅ Are LOTO procedures documented and up to date?
✅ Are employees trained on LOTO before working on electrical systems?
✅ Are lockout devices available and used correctly?
✅ Are stored energy sources (capacitors, batteries) properly discharged before servicing?

6. Emergency Preparedness
✅ Are fire extinguishers (Class C for electrical fires) available and inspected?
✅ Are emergency exits and evacuation routes free from electrical hazards?
✅ Are employees trained in first aid for electrical shocks/burns?
✅ Is an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) accessible nearby?
