Pictorial Projection-

The projection in which the description of the object is


completely understood in one view is known as Pictorial
Projection.

• Provides a realistic view of a 3D object.

Oblique projection
In this type of projection, out of the three dimensions
of the object, one dimension is parallel to the
horizontal, the second dimension is perpendicular to
the horizontal and the third dimension is at some
angle to the horizontal. Usually, 30 degree or 45
degree

TYPES OF Oblique projection

1. Cavalier projection
• Projection lines make an angle of 45º with the plane
of projection.

2. Cabinet projection
Projection lines make an angle with the projection
plane, it becomes about ½ both the axes by decreasing
scale

Perspective projection-

• In this projection, the projecting lines or visual rays


converge at a point

• It is also termed as convergent projection.


• In this projection further away object from the
viewer, small it appears.

 Perspective projections are not used by engineers for


manufacturing, because the perspective view does not
reveal the exact size and shape.

Axonometric projection-

In this projection, only one view showing all the three


dimensions of an object it drawn on a plane of
projection
