SOLVED: Real-time protection not turning on - states "You’re Using Other Antivirus
Providers".
Solved
Not sure if this is common knowledge - I dont think so after I have done days of troubleshooting myself and with
windows agents who said my fix was to reset my PC - but I finally found a way to fix real-time protection not
turning on.
1) Remove any anti-virus programs you may have installed (obviously).
2) Run Command Prompt application as administrator (type "cmd" in search bar and click run as administrator)
3) Rebuild the database by entering
"winmgmt /salvagerepository" then enter.
4) Reset the database by entering
"winmgmt /resetrepository" then enter.
5) Enable Windows Defender through command prompt by entering
“C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\mpcmdrun.exe” -wdenable" then enter. (if you have windows installed
on another drive, replace the letter "C" with the letter associated with your drive that has windows)
EXTRA: I also performed this before hand, but it didnt fix my situation immediately, like the firsts steps did. Maybe
they went hand-in-hand, maybe not, but you can always try this too.
Run command prompt as administrator and run these codes ONE BY ONE and press enter after each code.

I did days and days of troubleshooting this issue with so many different options, to no avail until now. I even
allowed 2 different customer service agents from Windows Support to control my computer/screen and try and fix
it, and they couldn't even solve the issue. They said my only choice was to reset my PC. They were wrong. I thought
I should note, i've never really used a third party antivirus, so not sure how this happened to me. I have gotten a
virus only once, and used Tron to remove it. So maybe that played a part, not sure. But let me know if this helps
anyone, thanks!
