6-Week Lesson Plan for Elementary Online Speaking Class

Schedule: 2 Lessons per Week


Structure: 2 Personal Projects + 2 Group Projects

Week 1: Greetings & Introductions

Lesson 1: Saying Hello and Goodbye


Objective: Students will learn basic greetings and farewells. (simple dialogue scripts)
Example Activity: Role-play greeting different people

Lesson 2: Introducing Yourself


Objective: Students will practice introducing themselves with basic personal details.
Example Activity: Pair practice introducing themselves with name, age, and country.

Week 2: Talking About Family

Lesson 3: My Family Members


Objective: Students will learn to talk about family members.
Example Activity: Drawing and presenting a simple family tree. (Talk about family members)

Lesson 4: Describing Family Relationships


Objective: Students will use simple sentences to describe their family.
Example Activity: “This is my mother. She is kind and loves cooking.”

Week 3: Daily Routines

Lesson 5: My Daily Activities


Objective: Students will learn to talk about their daily routines.
Example Activity: Students talk what they do during their day.

Lesson 6: Talking About Time


Objective: Students will practice telling the time and linking it to activities.
Example Activity: "I wake up at 7 AM and eat breakfast at 8 AM."

Week 4: Hobbies & Free Time


Lesson 7: My Hobbies
Objective: Students will talk about their hobbies.
Example Activity: Show-and-tell of a hobby (e.g., "I like drawing.")

Lesson 8: Talking About What You Like


Objective: Students will use 'I like/I don’t like' to express preferences
Example Activity: "I like playing soccer, but I don’t like swimming."

Week 5: Food & Drinks

Lesson 9: Common Foods


Objective: Students will learn common food names and meals. (remember to use Pic)
Example Activity: "I like apples. What do you like?"

Lesson 10: Ordering Food


Objective: Students will practice ordering food in a simple conversation. ( ask AT/student to
help the role-play e.g)
Example Activity: Role-play ordering food at a restaurant.

Week 6: My City

Lesson 11: Places in My City


Objective: Students will learn names of common places. (maybe use some things from last
lessons like play you like to go for fun)
Example Activity: "I go to school. I visit the park."

Lesson 12: Asking for Directions


Objective: Students will practice basic directions.(simple easy)
Example Activity: "Where is the bank? Go straight and turn left."

Personal Projects

Project 1: My Life Poster


Objective: Students will create a poster with pictures and sentences about their daily life.
Example: "This is me in the morning. I wake up at 7 AM."

Project 2: My Dream Weekend


Objective: Students will create a short presentation about what they would like to do on a
perfect weekend.
Example: "On my dream weekend, I will go to the zoo and eat ice cream."
Group project – making group presentations about their holiday plans how they are going to
spend their time.

First exam- grading from their gp project and 30min speaking text

Encourage student to be confident and try practice their speaking. Review their skills and think
how to plan for next month.
