HI-LINGUA LANGUAGE COMPETITION
SPEAKING EXAM CONDITIONS
Dear Students,
The conditions for the Speaking Exam (Interview), which will take place on 21-22 December 2024, for the top 10
students according to the results of the previous exam, are specified below:
1. Students with the following note included in their exam report are eligible to take this exam:
+ You are qualified for the FINAL ROUND on 21-22 December 2024.
2. The exams will be administered via Zoom.
3. The exam times are listed in the table below according to local time in Germany. Use this table to adjust the
exam times to your local timezone. You can calculate the time difference between your local time and the
current time in Germany by searching Google for the answer to the question “What is the current time in
Frankfurt?”.

4. At the scheduled exam time, you will be placed in the waiting room and admitted to the speaking exam
one by one when it is your turn.
5. Please join the Zoom meeting at the specified Zoom Connection time from the table. Do not connect
earlier.
6. After your speaking exam concludes, you may close your Zoom window and leave the exam session.
7. The speaking exam results will be evaluated using the criteria listed below:
• Grammar • Vocabulary • Pronunciation • Speech Flow • Overall Fluency
8. Exams will be recorded. Excerpts from recorded exams may be used in future Hi-Lingua promotional materials.
9. The top 3 students from each language category and grade group will be selected and publicly announced.
However, the scores or rankings of other students will remain undisclosed.
10. The top 3 students from each language category and grade group will be awarded the following:
• Gold medals for first, second and third places
• Hard copy achievement certificates
• Grand Final discounts (excluding 1st and 2nd graders):
- 75% discount for first places, 50% discount for second places and 25% discount for third places.
- These discounts can be used once the other participation requirements are met.
- Students who win GF discount awards by ranking in 2 or more different language categories can benefit
from the highest one. These discounts cannot be combined.

11. There will be no alternative exam schedules or additional sessions available for those who miss the exam.
12. It is recommended to connect to Zoom from a computer or a laptop.
13. Before the exam please ensure to check and test your internet connection, camera, microphone and any
other necessary equipment (such as cables, electricity, modem, etc.).
14. Ensure you're in a quiet, well-lit environment free from distractions, with your camera and microphone
properly set up.
15. Each participant’s Zoom Display Name must correspond to their Hi-Lingua Student ID and include their NAME
as well (E.g.: HDE2813 – Alex).
16. Zoom links will be sent until 18:00 (German local time) on Thursday, 19 December 2024.
Check whether your email is correct by accessing the 'My Profile' menu in your Hi-Lingua student panel. If you
do not receive an email, please contact us by filling out the Hi-Lingua contact form. Remember that only
