I. Long answer.
1. Sorting out things into groups make our task easy and saves times for
example a shopkeeper keeps items as per groups. In grocery stores,

grains spices, biscuits, candies etc are kept in distinct shelves. It helps
the shopkeeper in serving a customer in less time. Some basis of sorting
materials are.

On the basis of composition like metal, non-metal, plastic etc

On the basis of Hardness of softness

On the basis of conductivity

On the basis of solublity or insolubility

On the basis of ability to float on or sink in water

On the basis of ability to allow passage to light,

2. Materials which are more denser than water sink in water example iron

piece, stone, wherease materials which are less denser than water of float
in water Example - a piece of wood, thin plastic sheet, oil etc.

3. Two gases that are dissolve in water are oxygen and Carbon dioxide
Oxygen is useful for all aquatic plants and animals as it is essential for
breathing. Aquatic animal breath by taking dissolve oxygen in water.

Carbon dioxide gas is used in the process of photosynthesis in which

green plants in presence of sunlight make their own food. Aquatic plant
uses dissolve Carbon dioxide in water for photosynthesis.

4. Metals like gold and silver are I used to make jewellery.

()Metals have a metallic lusture and Shines.

(ii) Metals are ductile and can be drawn into wire.

Because of these properties metals are- I used to make jewellery:
