UNDISPUTED FACTS
1. In the republic of Sindia, there exist a miraculous city where all the babies are born as twins
(either identical or unidentical). It is nowhere but the city of Mayavaram in the State of
Dolakpur. Anamika and Sinamika are unidentical twin sisters who were born on 1st December,
2007 in Mayavaram. Both of them underwent cricket coaching from their childhood. The elder
sister, Anamika was a child prodigy who played as an all-rounder (right arm batter & right
arm off spin) whereas the younger sister struggled in her early days but managed to perform
well as a left-arm fast bowler.
2. Both of them excelled in their respective roles and were called up for the National U-19 World
Cup training camp which was conducted at the National Sports Academy located in Dolakpur.
The camp was conducted in order to shortlist 20 players out of the 30 players called up for
training. The Camp was scheduled from 01/02/2025 to 29/02/2025. The players were coached
by renowned cricketer Mr. Satish. The director of the facility was Mr. Rahul David.
3. The players were provided accommodation in such a way that 2 players share a single room.
Both Anamika and Sinamika were allotted Room No. 207 in residential block. Anamika had
a habit of writing journal. The entire facility was completely secure with multiple CCTV
surveillance. Though they were sister, they had numerous disagreements and quarrels. They
were even seen having heated arguments at times.
4. Osma Jasmine and Goperundevi were fellow cricketers who stayed in the adjoining Room No.
208 and Room No. 210 respectively. On 16/02/2025, Anamika was facing Sinamika in the net
session and got injured in when she was hit on her left shoulder. She was taken to medical
assistance and was prescribed pain killer tablets to be taken for 5 days.
5. The management had organised a team dinner and relaxation session on 17/02/2025 at around
08:00 PM. Everyone attended the same and participated in many fun activities till 10:30 PM.
As Anamika was under medication, she felt drained out and was escorted to her room by her
sister around the same time.
6. Later, Goperundevi visited their room to check on Anamika and left the room at around 10:45.
She went back to her room, but around 11:00, She saw the coach coming out of Anamika’s
Room to the corridor.
7. The next morning when Goperundevi went to Room No.207 to check on Anamika at around
6:20, she found Anamika dead in her bed. She immediately informed the management and the
police about the same. At, 06:40 AM, First Information Report was recorded based on the oral
complaint given by Goperundevi accusing Sinamika and Mr. Satish for the murder of Anamika
under Section 103 r/w 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The police arrived at the crime
spot at around 07:00 AM and sealed the spot.
8. The police sent the body for post mortem at 07:15 AM nearby government hospital and
proceeded with their investigation by recording the statements of the witnesses, drafting
inquest report, scene of offence panchnama, property seizure memo, perusing CCTV footages
of the facility.

10. BRIEF COURSE OF INVESTIGATION:
On 18th February, 2025, the station received news about the death of Anamika at the
National Sports Academy. After receiving a complaint from her colleague Goperundevi,
I reached the crime spot with 5 constables at around 07:00 AM following the FIR which
was lodged around 07:00 AM of the same day.
When I reached the spot, I saw Anamika dead lying on her bed with stirpes of pain
killer tablets on her table. The body was sent to the nearby government hospital for
autopsy. Then, a spot of offence panchnama was conducted at around 7.30 AM. The
entire place was sealed and necessary pictures were taken. The items seized were
syringes, a bouquet of roses, half-emptied pain killer tablet bottle, personal diary, a glass
bottle and wallet of the deceased. These evidences were sent for further examination.
Then, witness statements were collected from suitable witnesses. It was followed by
the examination of the CCTV footage of the training facility, from which we affirmed
the presence of the accused at the scene of crime along with the victim. We also found
that the coach, Mr. Satish made an attempt to destroy the CCTV footage of the academy
training facility.
After conducting a thorough investigation and referring to the Witness Statements,
Post-Mortem Report, Toxicology Report and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)
Reports, it could be concluded that both the accused in the judicial custody has played
a part in the murder of the deceased.

ANNEXURE 13: PROSECUTION WITNESS STATEMENTS
PW1: Goperundevi
I am Goperundevi and I am a cricketer currently undergoing training camp at the National
Sports Academy for almost 3 weeks. We started our camp on 1st Febraury and many players
from various parts of the country have been called up for this very camp. We were informed
that only 20 out of all the players will be shortlisted for the U-19 World Cup Squad. We were
coached by Mr. Satish.
It was only then I met the twin sisters, Anamika and Sinamika. We trained together during the
practice session and even spend time after that too. After days of observing their game, I was
astonished to see the raw talent of Anamika. She was undoubtedly the best player of our batch.
We usually have a bet among the bowlers to get her out in the net session but it seemed almost
impossible. There were even talks that she had the best chance to lead the National side in the
upcoming World Cup. On the other hand, her sister, Sinamika is a mediocre player who often
felt envious about her sister’s talent.
As the days passed, we became so close and spent a lot of time together both on and off the
field. Sinamika’s worry and envy also grew every day. Around the end of second week of the
camp, Sinamika’s performance rose out of the blue. Suddenly her game seemed a bit artificial
and she felt like a completely different player. She also started seeing the coach more often.
Usually, we practice have 2 sessions of practice a day, in morning and evening. But around this
time of the camp, the coach made few players to stay late during the evening session. Both the
sisters were in the special session. Change in their behaviour was evident at this point of time.
They spent less time with others and are often found in their room. Anamika seemed gloom.
Day before yesterday, during our practice session, Anamika was hit in her left shoulder by a
beamer bowled by her sister. She was in a lot of pain and was immediately taken to the medic.
They prescribed her some medicine and asked her to rest. After that, I saw her only during the
dinner we had the next day. She was reserved all along the dinner and was visibly tired at the
end of it around 10:30 PM. Sinamika accompanied Anamika to her room. I went to their room
to ensure whether she was alright. When I entered her room at around 10:40, I saw Sinamika
giving some pills to her sister. I stayed there for a while and had a small chat about her recovery.
Then, I left to my room. At around 10:50 PM, I saw the coach coming out of Anamika’s Room
to the corridor and gave a thought about it and went back to sleep in my room. I was deeply
concerned for Anamika. So, I went to her room to check on her as the first thing the next day.
But, to my shock, she was found lying breathless in her room. I immediately informed the
management and the police station about the same.
PW2: Dr. Arjun Reddy
I am Dr. Arjun Reddy, Senior Pathologist at Artemis Hospital. I conducted the Post Mortem on
the deceased. The time of receipt of body was around 7:30 pm on 18th of February. I proceeded
with the autopsy and noted that there was an external injury on the victim’s neck with common
symptoms of the same. This has caused swelling in the internal artery which might have led to
dizziness. Looking at the swelling of the internal organs such as the liver and the liquid deposit
in the lungs it indicates towards possible death by overdose of drugs, most probably a sleeping
pill of some sort.
PW3: Dr. Anthony
I am Dr. Anthony working at Kumar Laboratory. I carried out the toxicology analysis for the
present case. There were diuretics found in the deceased body, however this was the normal
amount in accordance with consumption of drugs. There was an unusually high amount of
Seconal (Secobarbital) which is either used for inducing sleep or as an anti-depressant.
Anything above 2000mg of Seconal can become lethal and in the sample given, there was more
than that, indicating death due to overdose of the same.
ANNEXURE 14: DEFENCE WITNESS STATEMENTS AIDE MEMOIRE
Mr. Rahul Dravid (DW1)
Age: 50 years
Occupation: Head of Sports Federation
I am the Director of the National U-19 World Cup Training Camp in Dolakpur. We selected 30
Under-19 female players all around the Country, from which the best 20 were chosen for the
training camp. The players are coached by one of the renowned former cricketers, Mr. Satish.
The Coach and I adhered to the rules and regulations strictly, and strongly instructed the players
to do as well. We personally made sure we keep a routine check on the rooms of the players to
prevent any accidental or direct cases of doping. We were about to start the 2 nd round of
selections. We were utterly shocked on the drugs being found.
Mr. Satish is one of the best Coaches and a glorified former cricketer of our Nation. He has a
stellar reputation, having handled many batches of young players. He has shaped them to
achieve great heights. During one of our meetings, he had vouched for two players Ms.
Anamika and Ms. Sinamika. He said that both of them were one of the bests he had come across
in decades of his time in this field. He found Ms. Anamika to be very dedicated and sincere
and had very high hopes on her.
However, this incident comes to my mind when Coach and I were discussing that lately Ms.
Anamika was off her game. The coach was very upset and worried for her. She was not
concentrating properly and he was unable to find the source of the problem. The selections
were nearing and he wanted her to be in her best form for the game.
I don’t know why it is being said that he murdered Ms. Anamika, when she was the best student
he has ever had and wanted to make her reach great heights in the profession. Infact, she was
the upcoming player and he put his blood, sweat and tears in training her. As far as I know, he
was just very concerned about her health and well being. He was visibly disturbed and shattered
at her demise. We all are.
Ms. Osma Jasmin (DW2)
Age: 18 years
Occupation: Under-19 Cricketer
I am a trainee in the National U-19 World Cup Training Camp. I was good friends with both of
them. I stay in the adjoining room to the twins. One day during a small dinner session in the
training centre, Anamika was taken back to her room by Goperundevi and Sinamika as she was
complaining of feeling sick.
Sinamika came to my room that night and she looked very sad. We immediately went to the
common area of the building to talk. She told me that Anamika looked depressed, did not talk
to her properly and had suicidal thoughts. She said that it was very difficult for her to handle,
being her twin, she could feel the pain. I felt very bad seeing Sinamika in such a state. She was
crying the whole night. Sinamika and Anamika were extremely close. In addition to being
twins, Sinamika considered Anamika to be her best friend.
I too noticed Anamika being closed off. She wasn’t her usual cheery self. She did not talk much
to me or anyone. I noticed that she was off her game. The twins were one of the bests in the
centre, but suddenly it seemed as if Anamika lost her form. I could also sense the impact her
behaviour made on Sinamika’s game. Both the sisters, suddenly were off their usual form.
I was trying to console Sinamika and she stayed with me in my room that night. The morning
we both woke up to the news that Anamika passed away. We rushed to their room. I have never
seen Sinamika that shattered. Anamika had a bright future ahead of her.
It is very sad and distasteful to think that Sinamika is being accused for her sister’s death, when
Sinamika loved Anamika above all else, to an extent that anything that affected Anamika also
affected Sinamika.
