Myths
Teacher’s Information

Task 6:
Stage 1: Research (10 marks)
Stage 2: Writing (30 marks)

Task 7:
Stage 3: Oral Presentation (20 marks)
Task 6, Stage 1: Research
(Learners hand in Stage 1 by the end of week 4.)

Instructions:

• Teach the elements of a myth.


• Learners can do further research.
• Learners choose a myth that interests them and read it for enjoyment.
• They study the chosen myth carefully, scanning it for information they
need.
• They complete the quiz.
• Encourage learners to be creative with their presentations.
• They may use the frame provided.

Ideas for Project

The following information must be included:


• Title of the myth
• Author
• Elements
• Setting
• Main character
• Plot: problem, solution
• Did the events take place?

1. Pennants

• Pennants can be used to write out myth elements.


• Learners can cut out triangles using coloured paper.
• Illustrations can be included.
• Once completed each pennant can be attached to a string to make a whole product.

2. Myth Timeline

Timelines can be used to write out the plot:


• the chronological order of events in a legend.
• the beginning, middle and end of a legend/ myth.

3. Myth Review Poster

Instead of writing a review, learners can use visuals


and colour to design a myth review poster.

4. Booklet

Learners can present their work in


the form of a booklet.

6. Two Page Frame


Learners can write the information on the frame provided.

7. Learners can present their information in any other interesting format not mentioned above.
