Inflation: Circumference of the hose, measured at specified temperature and specified excess
pressure, in relation to the original circumference of the hose.
Permanent deformation: Circumference of the hose, measured after the end of testing at room temperature,
without excess pressure, in relation to the original circumference of the hose

Applicable documents
In MAN company standards, industry-wide standards are normally cited as national standards.
Nationally adopted international standards (e.g. DIN ISO, DIN EN ISO) are also available as international
editions (e.g. ISO) if other languages are required.
Nationally adopted European standards (e.g. DIN EN) can also be obtained as other nationally adopted versions
(e.g. BS EN, SS-EN) if required.

Explanations
The material version Type 9 in accordance with MAN 334-1 will be blocked for new designs with initial release
date from 01.11.2024 and completely replaced by Type 2 in accordance with CVS58.
For new designs with initial release date from 01.11.2024 onwards, Type 2 shall therefore be used instead of
the material version Type 9 in accordance with CVS 58, and its test requirements shall apply.
For existing component documentation with initial release prior to 01.11.2024 and reference to material version
Type 9 of MAN 334-1, the requirements for this type remain fully valid in accordance with this document.

Appendix A
The dimensional design of the double-S test specimen shall take place in consultation with the department of
Material Technologies, (Dept. EOMC), Nuremberg plant. An example is shown below.
Example: Dimensions for moulded part test specimen according to 4.4 "Dynamic long-time impulse test"
