Okay, so this morning we will be having a new lesson. But


before we formally proceed to it, we will sing the alphabet
sonbg. Are you ready class? Yes teacher!

So the song goes this way! A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L,


M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z Now I know my
ABCs. Next time won’t you sing with me? (2X) (the pupils are singing well too)

Today, we are going to learn about Letter Aa as Medial


Sound. We have the following learning goals for this
session. Please read them aloud, class. At the end of the lesson, the learners
are expected to:

Today we will be learning about letter Aa as a medial


sound. We will know how to decode short Aa words in
Consonant-Vowel-Consonant Pattern. Are you all ready? Yes, teacher!

This is letter Aa, what letter is this? Letter Aa, teacher!

Okay, so the sound of letter Aa is “ah” What is the sound


of Aa? /a/ “ah”

Very good. Remember all words in today’s lesson have


“ah” sounds.

Now, let’s try to blend letter sounds. Okay, teacher!

Here we had: M-A-N The sound of M is“mmm” The


sound of A is “ah” The sound of N “nnn” So we have
mm-ah-nn mmaann. Man

Okay children, please repeat. mmm-ah-nn mmaannn. mmm-ah-nn mmaann. Man
