Lecture 6pdf-Analysis and Design of Slabs

The document provides a detailed analysis and design guide for one-way slabs in reinforced concrete, referencing the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP2015). It includes minimum slab thickness, reinforcement requirements, and examples of design calculations for various loads and slab dimensions. The examples illustrate the process of determining design loads, required reinforcement, and spacing for effective slab performance.

Analysis and Design of Slabs

ONE WAY SLAB

Reinforced concrete slabs are large flat plates that are
supported at its sides by beams, walls, or by the ground. If the
slab is supported on two opposite sides only, they are referred
to as one way slab. If the slab is supported in all four sides and
the long is more than twice the short side, the slab is classified
as one way slab.
