2287046 - How to Generate the System Info XML and upload to Maintenance Planner
Component: BC-UPG-MP (Basis Components > Upgrade - general > Maintenance Planning Tools), Version: 38,
Released On: 04.02.2025

Symptom
In High Security environment without a RFC connection from Solution Manager system to the SAP Backbone systems, system
data in "Explore Systems" in Maintenance Planner are required.

real data is purely coincidental.

Cause
The Landscape Fetch, SM:UPLOAD_SYSTEM_DATA job completed successfully but has not yet been processed on the
SAP systems.
There is no network connectivity allowed to the SAP back-end servers from your site.

Resolution
For ABAP stacks
1. Ensure that the system has SPAM/SAINT version of 59 or higher.

2. Select Utilities -> Generate system info XML:


3. Save the XML file to a local location:

4. Upload the sysinfo_SID.xml file by following the steps in the Maintenance Planner User Guide, section - Adding
Systems Using System Information XML

For Java stacks


1. See SAP Note 2293050 - SUM: Generating a System Information XML File for use with SAP Maintenance Planner
2. Modify the xml file by adding system's installation number. See SAP KBA 2350416
3. Upload the SysInfoExport.xml file following the steps in the Maintenance Planner User Guide, section - Adding
Systems Using System Information XML
For Dual stack systems
Execute above steps for ABAP and Java stack and follow the steps in the Maintenance Planner User Guide, section - Adding
