Model United Nations (MUN) is an intellectual crucible where

diplomacy, rhetoric, and global governance converge in a maelstrom
of strategic deliberation and geopolitical acumen. It is not merely an
academic simulation but a rigorous symposium of astute negotiation,
where delegates embody the ethos of international diplomacy,
navigating the labyrinth of multilateral discourse and legislative
intricacies.

Within this parliamentary microcosm, participants don the mantle of

seasoned diplomats, engaging in meticulous policy formulation,
persuasive oration, and tactical resolution drafting to address global

bringing prosperity and security to all. This is why we must start now,
preparing ourselves by seizing every opportunity to make a positive

LUMUN 2025 aims to inspire the youth to engage in various debates and
group discussions, tackling the global challenges we face today. By
sharing their opinions and ideas, participants will learn to work
diligently and collaboratively. Celebrating our inaugural year, LU MUN
2025 is dedicated to creating an exceptional experience for all attendees.
We are proud to introduce four committees, ranging from the United
Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), the, United
Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to national sessions like the All India
Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) and War Cabinet, allowing delegates to
engage in realistic simulations.
This competition embodies the said goal by providing a platform for
numerous intellectual minds to convene and share their knowledge.
Students across the nation would get opportunity to showcase their
debating skills and interact with other intellectual stimulating minds. I

As the Head and Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, I

human rights, and dispute resolution is imperative in today’s

this platform gives students all throughout India a chance to
participate in debates on matters of national significance. Being
involved in a project that develops the next generation of legal and
public policy leaders is an honour.
With topics of national importance, the Lucknow University Model
United Nations offers students a unique chance to improve their
communication and debating abilities. As the Teacher coordinator of
LUMUN, I take delight in promoting students' intellectual prowess
and critical and creative thinking. I'm excited to see how young people
from all over the nation will approach challenges and think
creatively.

CONFERENCE GUIDELINES

General Guidelines

Dress Code: All delegates, Executive Board (EB)

members, and organisers must follow formal
business attire throughout the conference.

Punctuality: Delegates must arrive on time for all

sessions and adhere to the schedule provided. Late
entries may be restricted.

Respect and Decorum: Delegates must maintain

diplomatic conduct, respecting fellow participants,
EB members, and the organising team.

Code of Conduct: Any form of discrimination,

harassment, or inappropriate behaviour will lead to
immediate disqualification and potential expulsions

Identification: Participants must always carry their

LU-MUN identification badges inside the venue.
 RULES AND REGULATION
1. Committee Proceedings
The conference follows Parliamentary Rules of Procedure,
with modifications as per the discretion of the EB.
All debates, motions, and resolutions must align with UN
protocol and diplomatic language.
Delegates must address the chair formally and request
permission before speaking.

2. Documentation and Research

Position Papers are mandatory for all delegates and must be
submitted before the deadline.
Working papers, draft resolutions, and amendments must
follow the official format provided.
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any delegate found
submitting copied work will face penalties.

3. Motion and Voting Procedure

Motions for moderated/unmoderated caucuses must be
precise and relevant.
Voting will be conducted through simple majority or two-
thirds majority, depending on the motion or resolution.
Abstentions are allowed except in procedural votes

4. Use of Technology
Laptops, tablets, and other devices can be used for research
but must be silenced during committee sessions.
The use of AI tools for drafting speeches and resolutions is
discouraged.
5. Crisis and Emergency Protocols
In case of an emergency (fire, medical issue, etc.), delegates
must follow the instructions of the organizing team.
Any participant disrupting the conference proceedings with
false emergencies will be penalized.

6. Awards and Recognition

Awards will be given based on diplomacy, research,
leadership, and contribution to debates. Categories may
include:
Best Delegate
High Commendation
Special Mention
The EB’s decision on awards is final and non-negotiable.

Disciplinary Actions
Any delegate violating rules may receive a verbal warning,
official warning, or disqualification based on the severity of
the offense.

Organizers hold the right to remove any participant found

engaging in unethical behavior.
