PowerPoint
What is PowerPoint?
Microsoft PowerPoint is presentation software, that is used to create on
screen slides shows, overhead projector slides, audience handouts and
speaker notes.
In power point a presentation can be projected on a big screen with
sound system by attaching your computer to lcd projector.

FEATURES OF POWERPOINT
Main features of PowerPoint are:
1. PowerPoint is templates help in creating, quick, easy and eye
catching presentation
2. Power point help in fact fill presentation plenty of graph and charts.
3. You can use built n themes to create professional looking
presentation without spending a lot of time for formatting.
4. You can use background style in order to enhance the appearance
of the presentation.
5. You can apply various animations and sound effects along with our
presentation.
6. You can apply various formats setting to the text typed in the
slides.
7. The slides transaction feature helps to make the slides show
presentation mode interesting.

COMPONENTS OF POWERPOINT

1. The Microsoft office button


Click on Office Button a menu appears as shown in figure.
It contains the commands New, Open, Save, Save As, Print,
Prepare, Send, Publish and Close.
It also shows recent opened documents.
It performs the same functions as the file menu in previous
versions of power point.

2. The Quick Access Toolbar


Quick access tool bar contains frequently used Commands or
Buttons. You can customize the Quick Access Toolbar to store
your most frequently used buttons. By default it contains Save,
Undo and Redo buttons.

3. The Title Bar


The title bar displays the name of the presentation on which you
are currently working.
By default, power point names presentation sequentially, starting
with presentation1.

4. The Ribbon
The PowerPoint 2007, you use the ribbon to issue commands. At
the top of the ribbon are several tabs, clicking a tab displays
several related commands group. Within each group are related

commands buttons. We click button to issue commands or to
access menu and dialogues boxes.

5. Slides , Slide Pane And Place Holder

In the slide pane, you can work directly on individual slides.


(a) Slides: A slide is a page of power point presentation that
displays some information about a brief topic. Slide appears in
the center of window.
(b) Placeholders: Placeholders are boxes with dotted marked
border that are mot the Part of slides layouts. You can use
placeholders to hold text, clipart charts and more.

6. Notes Pane
In the notes pane you can write notes to yourself about the current
slides.

7. Status Bar
The status bar displays the number of slides that is currently
displayed, the total number of slides and the name of the design in
use or the name of the background.

8. Task Pane
On the left side of the window, you can see a Task Pane with
slides and Outlines Tab. The outline tab displays the text
contained in your presentation. You can edit your text directly
from the outline tab.

9. View Button
PRACTICAL - 7
The view button is normal, slide sorter and slide show. Click
on option to select it.

10. Zoom Bar


Zoom Bar allows you to zoom in zoom out on the window
zooming makes the window larger.

11. Minimize , maximize and restore and close button


You use minimize button to remove a window from view.
While a window is minimized, its title appears on the taskbar.
You click the maximize button to cause the window to fill the
screen. After you maximize a window, clicking the restore
button returns the window to its former size. You click the close
button to exit the windows.
