Organizational Behavior (OB) is the study of how individuals and groups behave in a workplace. It
examines how people interact, make decisions, and influence each other within an organization . The
goal is to understand and manage human behavior to improve organizational performance.
Robert Owen – Advocated for worker welfare (regulated work hours, child labor laws, public education)
Max Weber – Developed authority structures in organizations
F.W. Taylor – Introduced scientific management (goal-setting, rewards, efficiency)
Henri Fayol – Defined universal managerial functions and 14 principles of management
1950s Behavioral Scientists – Maslow, McGregor, Herzberg, and others focused on motivation and
leadership
