At the end of the 45 minutes lesson, 80% of the learners should be able to:
a. identify famous Filipino and/or foreign scientist and their inventions from secondary sources
b. appreciate the importance of famous Filipino and foreign scientist and their interventions; and
c. draw examples of science inventions
A. Content Standards Science inventions have brought about major changes to our daily lives.
B. Performance Standards By the end of the lesson, learners describe chemical properties and changes to them. They demonstrate an
understanding that science processes can solve everyday problems and use creativity and demonstration to provide
examples. They exhibit objectivity and open-mindedness in gathering information related to environmental issues
and concerns in the community.

5. Reading the Key Idea/Stem Secondary sources it means works that analyze, assess, or interpret historical events or creative works. It is also
created by people who are not present during the events.
Science inventions the word science from the Latin word “scentia” meaning knowledge and invention from the
latin word “inventio” means finding out. So, Science inventions means finding knowledge.
Inventions means the act of bringing ideas or objects together in a novel way to create something that did not exist
before.
Inventor means a person creates something new.
6. Developing Understanding of the What are secondary sources?
Key Idea/Stem Secondary sources are works that analyze, assess, or interpret historical events or creative works. They provide
contexts and analysis of primary sources, offering valuable insights for researchers and scholars.
Exploring the lives and contributions of famous scientists through secondary sources provides valuable insights
into their groundbreaking work and enduring impact on various fields of study.

It is also created by people who are not present during the events.
Examples:
 Dictionaries- a reference book listing alphabetically the words of one language and showing their
meanings or translations in another language
 Encyclopedias- a book or set of books giving information on many subjects or on many aspects of one
subject and typically arranged alphabetically.
 Textbooks- a book used as a standard work for the study of a particular subject.
 Biographies- the story of a real person's life
 Articles- a piece of writing included with others in a newspaper, magazine, or other print or online
publication.
