Generalized Solution For The Static Analysis of Coupled Shear Walls Three-Field CTB Beam-24

The proposed continuous model for beam analysis shows a range of error between -2.35% and 4.70%, with an average absolute difference of 1.52% and a mean error of 1.17%. In contrast, the classical sandwich beam model exhibits a much larger error range from -58.15% to -3.37%, with an average absolute difference of 34.78% and a mean error of -18.99%. Overall, the proposed model demonstrates superior accuracy compared to the classical model.

When the proposed continuous model is used, the difference range shows results between
−2.35% (non-conservative) and 4.70% (conservative). The mean of the absolute differences is
1.52%, the mean of the errors is 1.17% and the maximum error is −2.35%. As in the case of the
previous analysis, the results are excellent.
However, when the continuous model used is the classic sandwich beam, the errors obtained
are very similar to the case of analysis of symmetrical coupled shear walls. The range of difference
is between −58.15% (not conservative) and −3.37% (not conservative). The mean of the absolute
differences is 34.78%, the mean of the errors is −18.99% and the maximum error is −58.15%.
The continuous model and the proposed solution method is in all cases superior to the con
tinuous sandwich model. The accuracy is slightly better than in the case of symmetrical shear
walls.
