Beaconhouse Notion of Academia ’25 - Delegate Guide
Overview
A delegation at BNA’25 consists of 4-6 members, and as a team they can participate in:
➢ 3 Tribulations, that are Mandatory Categories
➢ 3 out of 9 Modules, one from each group (Sirius, Orion, and Polaris)
➢ Up to 4 out of 6 Trials, that are Optional Categories
Tribulations
The three Tribulations at BNA’25 are mandatory for all delegates and will take place
alongside the Modules over the course of the three-day event. These overarching categories
will test a range of skills and contribute to the teams’ overall leaderboard score.
1. “Secrets of Vault 27” is a 3-day stock exchange simulation that features 15 trading
updates with shifting markets and fluctuating prices. Teams start with equal capital
and a portfolio of 8–10 companies, aiming to grow their net worth. The team with the
highest net worth at the end wins.
2. “SK’s Odyssey” is a 3-day, immersive video game that challenges delegates’
strategic thinking and decision-making. As the virtual world evolves with new crises
and opportunities, teams will need to adapt, make tough choices, and manage
resources to stay ahead. Starting with limited points and resources, the goal is to
navigate SK’s journey and achieve the highest score by overcoming challenges and
managing wisely.
3. “Raiders of HQ 781” is a high-stakes scavenger hunt with 100 QR codes scattered
across campus. Teams race to scan codes and earn points, but once claimed, a code is
locked. Strategy is crucial, as not all codes are what they appear. The team that scans
the most QR codes will earn the highest scores.
Modules
The 9 Modules form the core of BNA’25, encompassing domains ranging from STEM to
business and law. They are intricately designed to hone and test delegates' skills across
various subjects, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. They are divided into three
groups: Sirius, Orion, and Polaris. Delegates must participate in three Modules, one from
each group. Each Module consists of three rounds spread over three days, with each round
contributing to the teams' leaderboard score. Teams may also face elimination between
rounds.
Sirius
➢ Riddle at Lion’s Gate - Law and Criminology
➢ Carson’s Mileu - Environment
➢ Maslow’s Hierarchy - Business
Orion
➢ Haytham’s Reel - Media
➢ Mapper's Interstellus - Engineering
➢ Villani's Squares - Mathematics
Polaris
➢ Blackwell’s Labyrinth - Medical
➢ Kepler’s Orbits - Astronomy and Aerospace
➢ Neumann’s Matrix - Computer Science
Trials
Delegates can participate in up to 4 of the 6 optional Trials at BNA’25. While the Trials do
not impact the leaderboard, they provide valuable perks that can give delegates a competitive
edge. Each Trial is completed in a single day and runs throughout all three event days.
1. Toriyama’s Arena - Delegates will create a super character by combining unique
traits from their favourite fandom characters to face off against a character designed
by the BNA Host Team. Winning teams will be awarded the “Summon” perk
allowing them to summon an additional team member to any one module round of
their choosing.
2. Morgan’s Gambit - Delegates start with a low-value item and trade up to a high-
value prize through a series of strategic virtual trades. Each trade option adds days to
their record, simulating execution time. The goal is to reach the final item in the
fewest days. Winning teams will be awarded the “Immunity” perk shielding them
from disqualification in one module round of their choice.
3. Loyd’s Conundrum - Delegates will have to solve a series of puzzles, riddles and
logic questions to unveil the ultimate truth. Winning teams will be awarded the
“Surplus” perk granting them additional funds in the stock exchange simulation in
“Secrets of Vault 27”.
4. Isaac’s Duel - After passing a screening process to prove they are skilled enough to
participate in this trial, delegates will have to build robots and engineer a machine that
can outthink and outmanoeuvre their opponents. Winning teams will be awarded the
“Sabotage” perk allowing them to eliminate any one team from a module round of
their choice.
5. Marsh’s Map - Delegates will have to locate ancient beasts hidden across the BMI
campus, decipher their unique habitats, and precisely place them on the map of
Pangaea. Winning teams will be awarded the “Regen” perk granting them extra game
health or resources in “SK’s Odyssey”.
6. Nolan’s Recap - Delegates must record the highlights of Day 1 and Day 2 of
BNA’25, presenting what they capture in unique and creative ways with a series of
curveballs thrown their way. Winning teams will be awarded the “Multiplier” perk
allowing them to amplify their final score by a set percentage in any one module
round of their choice.
