Strakon Project Model
1.Introduction
The new project model offers several advantages over the conventional
drawing model, especially for the cooperative editing of large projects. In this new
approach, the entire model is located in the Strakon project area, where it is always
accessible and editable by all project team members simultaneously. Key benefits
include:
▪ Centralized Model Location: The entire model resides in one central area,
facilitating parallel editing by multiple users.
▪ Submodels for Organization: The project is divided into submodels,
allowing quick display and concealment of model areas and controlled
user rights assignment. This ensures clarity on who can make changes in
specific areas of the project.
▪ Concurrent Editing: Multiple editors can make changes across various
submodels and floors, enhancing flexibility and collaboration.
▪ Automatic Backups: Older versions of the project can be retrieved at any
time through automatic project backups, ensuring data integrity and the
ability to track changes.
▪ Inclusive Planning Process: Project partners without direct access to the
model can still be involved in the planning process, promoting inclusivity
and collaboration.
▪ Remote Collaboration: Joint editing of the project, such as architectural
and structural design, can be done from different locations within a single
model, increasing convenience and efficiency.
▪ Precast Construction Integration: In precast construction, shop drawings
can be transferred from the drawing model to the project model to serve
as templates for subsequent components. The shop drawing facilitates
editing of one's own components and provides access to other project
items without switching drawings.
Overall, this new model streamlines the collaborative process, enhances
flexibility, and ensures better organization and control over project editing and
access.

(Methode Modellerstellung: Projektmodell bzw. Planmodell)

1
This icon indicates whether the template is in Plan Model or Project Model.
Once the template is created using any of the methods, the type cannot be
changed. In this case by default, it will be in the Project Model method.

(Modellreferenz)
2
This icon indicates whether the template is connected to the Model
reference or not. Please ensure it is always active.

(Plantyp: Übersichtsplan bzw. Werkplan)

3
If you create overview and work plans and want to create a project list of
the installed 3D components, you should assign the plans to the respective plan
type (overview plan or work plan) using this icon. Toggle this icon to Werkplan.

2.2 Basic Settings
Once we have created the template, we need to import a settings file
(.set) that has been customized according to our specific requirements. This file
includes settings for pen weight, dimension patterns, font style, and more. To
ensure the template meets our standards and preferences, follow these detailed
steps to import the standard settings (.SET) file:
Step 1 – Click on Option "Einstellungen" in the top ribbon bar, and from the drop-
down menu, select "Voreinstellungen in Plan einlesen."

Step 2 – A dialog box will open, prompting you to locate the .set file. Navigate to
the location where our own .SET file is saved. Select the Standard Settings .set file
and click "Open" and select all "Changes" and Click "OK" Now New Settings has
been added.
Note-Ensure that the
settings file is in the Strakon
folder path -
C:\ProgramData\DICAD\
Version.2024+\strakon\
vorein

2.3 Save as the Template from Project Folder
Instead of creating a separate template for each shop drawing, you can use
a single standard template for the entire project, where all Settings and required
data have been preloaded.
Open “Template”. Kon from Strakon and “Save As” it to the desired name
for Example AW01.01 in same path, once you “Save As” the Template by Default
it will import the Flex Part which has same Name (AW01.01). Then you can proceed
with the drafting.

Step 2 – Select BIP which needed place in Flex Part and Click “Öffnen”

Vinayak Tirki 7/20

Step 3 – Place the BIP in the Flex Part by entering the coordinate values with
respect to any reference point of Flex Part for the horizontal and vertical
directions. If you need to rotate, move, or delete the BIP, use the commands from
the "Bearbeiten" menu.

Note-
To copy a BIP from other Flex Parts within the same project and add it to a new
Flex Part, follow these steps:
▪ Select the BIP: Choose the BIP you want to copy from the existing Flex Parts.
▪ Copy the BIP: Use the "Copy" command (Ctrl + C) with a reference point.
▪ Paste the BIP: Navigate to the new Flex Part and use the "Paste" command
(Ctrl + V) with a reference point.
This will place the copied BIP into the new Flex Part at the specified location.

3.2 Copying BIP by importing other Flex Part
Since we are working on Project Model, every time we create a shop
drawing, all data like BIP and reinforcement will get deleted due to the automatic
addition of a new Flex Part. To avoid this, we can import a Flex Part that already
contains all the necessary data, and then copy and paste it into the new Flex Part.

Step 1 – In 3D cube Modell Click on Option "Einfugen" in the top ribbon bar and
Click on Option "Flex Bauteil" or (Ctrl_F) from the additional menu, A dialog box
will open and Click on Flex Part that already contains all the necessary data and
and click “Öffnen”

Make sure to click on the “Auflösen” option or press (F4) to dissolve it, as it is
connected to the Central Model. If you don't do this, you won't be able to copy
any data.

Vinayak Tirki 9/20

Step 2 – By following these, you can efficiently transfer necessary data from the
imported Flex Part to the new Flex Part without losing any information.
1. Import the Flex Part: Begin by importing the Flex Part that contains all the
necessary data.
2. Place in Drawing Area: Position the imported Flex Part in the drawing area.
3. Select Built-in Parts: Highlight the built-in parts within the imported Flex
Part that you wish to copy.
4. Use the Kopieren Option:
▪ Navigate to the "Bearbeiten" menu.
▪ Click on the "Kopieren" option or press the "K" key on your
keyboard.
5. Copy with Reference Point: When prompted, select a reference point for
copying the built-in parts.
6. Place in New Flex Part: Navigate to the new Flex Part and use the
previously selected reference point to place the copied built-in parts.

After copying the BIPs if required, select

them and use the “Verschieben” option
or press (V) to move them. Drag the BIPs
to the desired location, enter coordinates
if needed, and confirm the placement to
ensure accurate positioning.

3.3 Exchanging Type of BIP
By following these steps, you can efficiently replace one type of BIP with
another across your entire project, ensuring consistency and accuracy. You can
use this process to exchange any built-in parts, not just BIPs. Follow the same
steps to update multiple parts or components in your project

1. Select the BIPs to Exchange:

Begin by selecting all the BIPs that you want to change. For instance, if you
have multiple PD7070 BIPs that need to be replaced, highlight all of them.
2. Open the Taushen Option:
Navigate to the “Bauteile” menu in your application.
Click on the “Taushen” option or press Ctrl + U on your keyboard. This
action opens a dialog box that allows you to specify the replacement BIP
type.
3. Choose the Replacement Type:
In the dialog box, you’ll be prompted to select the new BIP type.
Choose the BIP type you want to use as a replacement, for example,
PD5020.
4. Confirm the Change:
After selecting the new BIP type, confirm or apply the changes. The
application will replace all instances of the selected BIP type (PD7070) with
the new type (PD5020) in the locations where they were previously placed.
5. Verify the Changes:
Check the drawing or model to ensure that all instances of the original BIP
type have been successfully replaced with the new type.
