Emma and Lucas have always been curious about the old house on Willow Street. It’s an
abandoned mansion at the end of their neighborhood, and nobody has lived there for at least fifty
years. People say there have been strange noises coming from inside, and some neighbors claim
to have seen shadows moving in the windows.
One evening, Emma and Lucas decide to investigate. As they walk toward the house, they notice
that there has been a light shining through one of the upstairs windows, even though there isn’t
any electricity in the house.
"Did you see that?" Lucas asks nervously. "I have never seen a light on in that house before."
Emma nods. "Maybe someone has been here recently," she whispers.
They slowly push open the front door, which creaks loudly. Inside, there are old paintings on
the walls, covered in dust and cobwebs. The wooden floor has cracked under their feet, and the
air has smelled of damp wood and forgotten memories.
As they explore, they find a room filled with antique furniture. "Wow! There have been so
many expensive things left behind," Emma says, picking up an old clock. Suddenly, they hear a
noise upstairs.
Emma takes a deep breath. "Yes… It sounds like footsteps. But that’s impossible. Nobody has
lived here for decades!"
Slowly, they climb the stairs. The hallway is dark, but at the end of it, there’s an old wooden
door. Emma pushes it open, and inside, there is a single chair in the middle of the room, facing
the window. On the chair, an open diary rests.
Lucas picks it up and reads aloud: "I have waited for you..."
At that moment, a cold wind blows through the room. They look at each other, drop the book,
and run down the stairs as fast as they can.
Since that night, there have been even more stories about the old house. Some say the ghost of
the last owner has been waiting for visitors. Emma and Lucas have never forgotten their
terrifying experience.
Story 2: The Lost Passport
James has traveled to many countries over the past five years, but he has never lost his passport
—until today. He is at the airport, standing in line to check in for his flight to Italy, when he
realizes something is wrong.
He quickly opens his bag and searches through it. There isn’t a passport inside. His hands start
to shake as he checks again. Still nothing.
"Oh no," he mutters. "I have always been careful with my passport. Where could it be?"
He steps out of the line and calls his best friend, Anna. "Hey, I have just arrived at the airport,
but I can’t find my passport!"
Anna, who has known James for years, sighs. "James, where have you been today?"
"I have been to the café near my apartment, the bookstore downtown, and the train station," he
replies, pacing nervously.
"Maybe there has been a mistake, and someone has found it," she suggests. "Check with the
lost and found at those places."
James rushes to the airport’s lost and found, but the clerk shakes his head. "Sorry, but there
hasn’t been any passport turned in today."
Frustrated, James takes a taxi back to the café where he had breakfast that morning. He runs
inside and asks the waiter, "Excuse me, has there been a passport left here today?"
The waiter thinks for a moment. "Oh! Yes! There has been a passport on the table all afternoon!
I was about to take it to the lost and found."
James sighs in relief. "Thank you so much! I have never felt so panicked before."
As he gets back in the taxi, he checks his passport carefully. "From now on, I have to be more
careful. I have always checked my passport twice before, but today I was in a hurry."
Since that day, James has never forgotten to double-check his belongings before leaving a
place.
