Described briefly How science and technology evolved during each period In
history.
The growth of science and technology has not been steady; it has had both rapid and
slow phases. Early societies created simple tools and developed farming methods.
During ancient Greece and Rome, there were important advancements in math,
astronomy, and philosophy, which helped shape future scientific ideas. In the Middle
Ages, different regions, especially in the Islamic world, made significant progress. The
Scientific Revolution, which took place from the 16th to the 18th centuries, changed
our understanding of the world by introducing new ways to observe and experiment.
The Industrial Revolution introduced mass production and new energy sources,
which transformed society. In the last few centuries, progress has sped up, leading to
major discoveries in medicine, computing, communication, and space exploration.
Each era built on the knowledge and inventions of earlier times.
1. Write your own impression on the current science Education In the Philippines.
Science education in the Philippines has a lot of promise but also encounters
challenges. There is an increasing interest in STEM subjects (Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics), and certain universities are doing very well in these
fields. However, there are differences in how resources are shared, with many
schools, especially in rural regions, struggling with a lack of funding, equipment, and
qualified science teachers. Sometimes, teaching methods need to be refreshed to
include more interactive and hands-on learning. By providing better teacher training,
improving resources, and focusing more on real-world applications, the quality of
science education in the country could be significantly improved.
2. In group of 4-5 members, find out what concrete products In science you see In
society today.
Science is all around us! Think about medicine, like vaccines, antibiotics, and medical
imaging. Look at technology, including computers, smartphones, the internet, and
transportation. In agriculture, we have things like genetically modified foods and
fertilizers. For energy, there are options like solar and wind power. In materials
science, we use stronger and lighter building materials. Even the clothes we wear are
made from synthetic fabrics. These are just a few examples of how science and
technology have influenced our everyday lives.
