REPORT COMPONENTS

1. REFLECTION ON APPLIED ASSESSMENTS

In this section, reflect on your experience completing the various applied assessments throughout the course.
Discuss what you learned from each assessment, what challenges you faced, and how you overcame these
challenges. Discuss the key concepts and practices that you learned from these assessments and how you will
apply them to future projects
A: MS Project Lab Assessments
Describe your approach to completing the lab assessments. Which task (or set of tasks) did you find most
challenging? How did you work through these challenges with these tasks?
I developed a systematic approach, initially, I went through the attached rubrics and requirements of all the labs and
made sure that I completely understand what is required and then I referred to the PPTs and textbooks for
completing these labs. The most challenging part was creating a Gantt chart but I was able to do that with the help
of professor.
Discuss how you might apply the skills learned during this assessment to future projects?
MS Project is one of the most used software in the corporate world and with the help of these labs I have acquired a
lot of skills that would help me in effective project planning along with resource planning, time optimisation, risk
management and problem-solving. I will definitely be applying all these skills when I graduate and start working.
Provide a brief evaluation of the software tool used to complete the lab assessments. Would you recommend this
tool to help manage future projects? Why?
MS Project has a user-friendly interface, and powerful project management capabilities, I would recommend MS
Project for managing future projects. The software's ability to handle complex project structures, optimize resource
allocation, and facilitate collaboration outweighs any potential drawbacks.
B: Group Project
Describe our experience working with a team on the group project and how you applied the principles of project
management to complete the required tasks.
Working with a team on our group project was an enriching experience that allowed me to apply key principles of
project management to complete the required tasks By emphasizing on communication, collaboration, and
proactive planning, we navigated challenges and successfully delivered our project.
Discuss your perception of the strengths and weaknesses of your group as a whole, any challenges your group faced
and how you overcame them.
Our group had strengths in diverse skills, effective communication, and adaptability while there were some
weaknesses like task dependency, some of the tasks were dependent on each other and were delayed because the
team member was unable to complete on time. However we developed a clear communication plan and conducted
few meetings to overcome this issue.
Discuss your individual contributions to the group project, including your strengths and weaknesses, and areas for
improvement
Initially, we were supposed to choose a leader for our group. I was skeptical in the beginning but had to take up this
role as nobody else was willing to be a group leader and I am glad that it happened as I realised my strong areas. I
was able to delegate the tasks to all the team members based on their strengths and weaknesses and
responsibilities like coordinating tasks, facilitating communication, and ensuring the overall progress of the project.
While I also figured out that I need to work more on my Time management skills.
Consider the skills you learned completing the required tasks. Which of these skills do you feel most confident in
applying to future projects? Explain.
Throughout this project, I acquired many skills like leading a team, compiling all the work done by each team
member and creating and presenting PPTs .I feel confident enough to take these kinds of roles in the future and
apply project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, and effective communication skills to future projects.
2. CONNECTION TO COURSE CONCEPTS
In this section, you will reflect on your learnings in the course by discussing key takeaways, specifically as they
relate to the project management knowledge areas presented in the course.

Discuss your key takeaways from each of the chosen knowledge areas. This should include what you learned, how
you plan to apply this knowledge in future projects and any challenges you encountered while engaging with the

Clear project scope, efficient time management, and stakeholder engagement are integral components for achieving
project objectives and maintaining successful project outcomes. The course provided a comprehensive
understanding of these knowledge areas, equipping me with valuable insights applicable to future projects. While
balancing flexibility with adherence to timelines was the challenge.
Discuss any challenges you foresee in applying concepts related to each knowledge area and what strategies you
can use to overcome them.
Managing scope changes , Establishing transparent communication and Diverse Stakeholder Interests are the
challenges that I consider while applying these concepts but these challenges can be solved with a combination of
effective communication, stakeholder engagement and continuous monitoring and feedback.

enable me to navigate challenges effectively, make informed decisions, and contribute to the successful delivery of
projects in a professional setting

I would suggest future students to take all the labs and group projects with utmost sincerity as these will help them
to have hands on experience on Project management tools and methodologies. Secondly, I suggest them to go
through textbook apart from slides.
Recommend an approach to completing the applied assessments, engaging with the course material, and managing
group work.
Approach applied assessments by planning strategically, allocating tasks based on team members' strengths, and
implementing regular progress monitoring with feedback loops. Engage with course material actively through
participation, exploring supplemental resources, and applying theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios.
