Present perfect (result)
The following verbs are usually only used in Present Perfect Simple (not in the progressive
form).
Tom: Hi Ana. I (try) __________ to ring you several times today. Where (you / be)
__________ ?
Ana: I (be) __________at home all the time. But I (clean) __________ the house all day, so
maybe I didn't hear the phone ring.
Tom: (you / clean) __________everything?
Ana: No, not yet. I (tidy / not) __________up the kitchen yet. But why are you here?
Tom: Don't you remember? Jane (invite) __________us to her birthday party and we (buy /
not) __________a present for her yet.
Ana: Oh, that's right. (you / find out / already) __________what she wants?
Tom: Well, she (learn) __________Spanish for a year and wants to spend her next holiday in
Mexico. Maybe we could get her a guide book.
Ana: That's a good idea. There is a good bookshop in the big shopping centre. I (see)
__________some nice books about Mexico there recently.
Write sentences in present perfect continuous, if possible. If it is not possible, use the
Present Perfect Simple.
