c. We will review deciding on a rhetorical situation using sample
i. Audience? Purpose? Context? They drive how I organize
and techniques I decide to use
d. I will write out my Rhetorical Situation Planning Sheet
i. Reminder: Research should just be support for YOUR
argument. All thesis, topic sentences and explanations
should be YOUR opinions and ideas.

iii. define what is meant by draft: full essay with all research,
just not edited or works cited yet

paragraphs; finished RD DUE Mon 2/12 [i should be able to see it in
GC]--must show teacher an e-copy by 8am [grade]

b. ME: daily check on internal cits, plagiarism, and see everyone’s
draft at least 1x this week!
HW: Bring all notes for test on Friday--MC over all concepts so far

d. Obj: clear up content: clarity issues, missing or unconvincing
evidence, illogical organization
3. I will revise for all content: everything should be perfect, logical
argument (except grammar and MLA)
4. Also is 50%+ you, not the source? Revise bc this is NOT convincing;
lessons and something concrete that helps them deepen their body
paragraphs–show sample paragraphs and revisions

Tuesday 2/27

2. I will fix any MLA issues in my essay and create my Works Cited--int
cits, heading, header, title, and WC; credible lead ins and variety in
lead in phrasing
3. We will trade papers and spot check MLA in one paragraph--
a. Do you see internal citations with either an author or title?
b. Does the Works Cited Page look correctly formatted?
c. Did they lead into and indicate where sourced info begins and
ends
4. I will edit my essay using add ons, peers, and handouts
HW: Due tomorrow (well argued logical essay, correct MLA
everything, perfect grammar)!
Wed 2/28

issues on content, grammar, or MLA [grade]
