3 Installation Scenarios

If multiple PSUs are configured, allocate DC loads evenly to the PSUs.

 In the small pole scenario, the pole diameter is 60 mm to 114 mm. In the large pole
scenario, the pole diameter is 114 mm to 400 mm. The recommended thickness of the pole
wall is 4 mm or above.
 The distance between the lower end of the pole mounting kit and the ground is greater than
or equal to 800 mm. The recommended distance ranges from 800 mm to 1200 mm.
 In the multi-layer installation scenario, if modules are installed in the back-to-back mode, the
distance between pole mounting kits must be greater than or equal to 300 mm. If modules
are installed on the same side, the distance between pole mounting kits must be greater
than or equal to 900 mm.
 Select an appropriate pole based on site requirements. The following uses the small pole
scenario as an example.
 This section uses a maximum of two PSUs and eight lithium batteries as an example.

4 Installation Preparations

 Wear gloves during installation.

 When carrying a module with one hand, ensure that the lower part of the
module terminal does not get in contact with the ground or bump against the
stairs. When moving a module with two hands, hold the ejector lever and
traction ring.
 Never install a module with power on. Ensure that the angle between a
module and the line vertical to the ground is within 10 degrees. Ejector lever
 Do not assemble a lithium battery with an RRU. Do not install a PSU on the
left side of an RRU or lithium battery.
 When a wireless backhaul module is installed on the PSU on the ground,
exercise caution when moving the PSU to prevent collision with the backhaul
module. Otherwise, the module may be damaged. You are advised to install
the backhaul module after mounting the PSU.
 The paint on the module exterior should be intact. If paint flakes off, repaint
the area to avoid corrosion.
 An upstream AC SPD of at least 20 kA is required for the PSU.
 When securing a large-pole mounting kit, ensure that the hoops are closely
attached to the pole and that there are no sundries between the hoops and the
pole. Traction ring
 When the PSU is assembled with the RRU or lithium battery, ensure that the
PSU, RRU, and lithium battery are installed in the same direction and that the
handles are on the same side.
 After unpacking the equipment, you must power it on within 24 hours. When
the equipment is maintained, the power-off duration cannot exceed 24 hours.
 If a lithium battery sunshade is configured, install the sunshade on the outer
side of the lithium battery after installing the PSU and lithium battery.
 This device (or system) must be installed or used in restricted areas and
accessible only by service personnel.

6.2 Preparing AC and DC Cables

 Stay away from the equipment when preparing cables to prevent cable scraps from
entering the equipment. Cable scraps may cause sparks and result in personal injury and
equipment damage.
 Do not connect aluminum cables to connectors directly to prevent electrochemical
corrosion of copper and aluminum.
 AC and DC power cables must be multi-core cables. Otherwise, water leakage may occur
on the waterproof connectors.
 Do not use cables with solid conductors (class 1) or stranded conductors (class 2). You are
advised to use cables with flexible copper conductors (class 5) or extra flexible copper
conductors (class 6).

The system supports 220 V AC single-phase input and 110 V AC dual–live wire input.

Installing a Wireless Backhaul Module

Install a SIM card to the backhaul module.

Click

 The backhaul module is properly installed if you hear two clicks. Water may enter if the
module is not properly installed.
 If you need to change the SIM card, install the backhaul module on the ground and then
install it to the PSU.

system.

7 Verifying the Installation

1. Check whether the two clips on the backhaul module are fastened. If not, fasten them. For
details, see ‘Installing a Wireless Backhaul Module’.
2. Check that the mounting kits are securely installed and all screws are tightened.
3. Check that all cables are reliably connected with correct polarity and there is no short circuit.
4. Check whether any screw holes are not installed with screws. If so, install screws.
5. Check that the waterproof caps of all PSUs and lithium batteries are tightened.

8 Power-On Commissioning
1. Switch off the upstream AC circuit breaker between the AC power source and the power
system, and use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the circuit breaker. The value should
range from 90 V AC–290 V AC.
2. Check the indicators on the PSU and lithium battery. If the running indicator is blinking green
and the alarm indicator is off, the PSU and lithium battery are working properly.
3. Observe the power system for about 15 minutes. If no alarm indicator is on, the system is
running properly.

FAQ: How
LIE AppDo I Expand the Capacity of DC Loads?

 Restricted by the load fuse of the PSU, the total DC load connected to the four-way connector
(04152542) cannot exceed the power that one load fuse can withstand.
 The DC output power cable connected to the four-way connector (04152542) must meet the
following requirements: 2.5–6 mm² conductor and 11–15 mm cable outer diameter.
 When adding DC loads, you do not need to connect the ground cable of the four-way
connector to the site ground bar. You are advised to wrap the ground cable with insulation
tape.
