Q2: Booting from a CD Instead of a Hard Disk or SSD

To boot from a CD instead of a hard disk or SSD, I follow these steps:

1. I enter the BIOS setup by pressing the appropriate key (e.g., F12, F2, or DEL) during

startup.

2. I navigate to the Boot tab or Boot Order settings.

3. I locate the Boot Priority or Boot Sequence menu.

4. I move the CD/DVD Drive to the top of the boot order list.

5. I save the changes and exit the BIOS.

6. I insert the CD and restart my computer, which will now boot from the CD.

Q3: Disabling the CD and USB Drives

To disable the CD and USB drives, I take these steps:

1. I enter the BIOS setup by pressing the appropriate key during startup.

2. I navigate to the Advanced Settings or Integrated Peripherals menu.

3. I look for options like USB Configuration or CD/DVD Drive Settings.

4. I disable both the CD/DVD Drive and USB Ports (often listed as USB Legacy Support

or USB Boot).

5. I save the changes and exit the BIOS.

Q4: Preventing Unauthorized Changes in BIOS by Setting a Password

To prevent unauthorized changes, I set a BIOS password by doing the following:

1. I enter the BIOS setup during startup.

2. I navigate to the Security tab.

3. I select Set Supervisor Password or BIOS Password.

4. I enter and confirm a secure password.

5. I save the changes and exit the BIOS.

Now, anyone trying to modify BIOS settings will need to enter the password.

Q5: Booting into Safe Mode & Possible Restrictions

To boot into Safe Mode, I follow these steps:

 On most Windows PCs:

1. I restart my computer and press F8 before Windows loads (for older systems).

2. I select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu.

 On Windows 10/11:

1. I hold Shift and click Restart from the Start menu.

2. I go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.

3. I select Enable Safe Mode (by pressing the corresponding number key).

If Safe Mode is unavailable, it may be due to:

 Fast Boot, which skips the traditional startup sequence.

 UEFI firmware, which may not support the F8 method.

 I may need to access Safe Mode through Windows Recovery options instead.
