DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN KINDERGARTEN - NUMERACY

I . OBJECTIVES

At the end of the 45 – minute discussion, the Kindergarten –


SUPERSTAR learners are expected to do the following with 80% level of
accuracy :
a. Recognize the basic colors red, yellow and blue
b. Sort and Classify objects according to one
attribute/property (shape,color,size) ;and
c. Work cooperatively in group sorting activities.

III . PROCEDURE ( INDUCTIVE METHOD)

A . PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES : 15- minutes

1. GREETINGS & PRAYER

Buenas dias mga bata!!(Good morning Teacher)Let us all stand up


for our morning prayer. Everyone let us bow down our heads,close our
eyes and put ourselves in the presence of our Almighty Father. Dear
God, thank you for our friends, our families, and our day. Help us to be
kind and to learn new things. Keep us safe and healthy. Amen.

2. ATTENDANCE
Hello , superstars! Before we jump into our awesome activities,
let’s see who’s ready to learn today! Is anyone missing from our super
group? (None teacher, everyone is present today) Very good!

3. CALENDAR ARTICULATION
What day is it today children? (Today is Wednesday, yesterday is
Tuesday and tomorrow is Thursday). Well done!! Can you tell me what
is the weather for today? (Teacher the weather today is cloudy
/sunny.)

4. DRILL

This morning we’re going to learn something new today, but first,
let’s have an action song , I’ll show you how it goes, and then we’ll do it
together. Sounds good? (Yes Teacher)

Great job, everyone! Let’s give ourselves an NICE clap!!

5. MOTIVATION

Before we proceed to our lesson for today, we will have an activity


first, each group will be given baskets , but before that who can tell to
the class what are the things that you must remember when we are
having an activity? (be quiet, help each other and don’t quarrel) very
good! Each group will be given baskets all of the members must sort and
organize the objects together base on the colors of the basket and later
on I will be calling each group to share to the class what they have in
their basket. Did you understand? (yes, teacher) very good! Let us start.

Group 1 can you please share to the class what you have there.( Teacher
we have toys that are all color red- colorao)Very good! How about group
2( Teacher we have toys that are all color yellow- amarillo ) very good,
group 3? (Teacher we have toys that are all color blue- azul) Very good!

Now, what do the groups have in common? (We have toys that are
colors red, yellow and blue) that’s right!

Do you have any idea on what is our lesson for this afternoon? (About
colors Teacher) Yes well done, Our lesson for today, is all about the basic
Colors.

B. DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE – 20 minutes

1. Presentation of the Lesson/Discussion


Today we will learn about the basic colors. But before that let us
sing a song. Let us sing the red song to the tune of the alphabet song
.Can you all sing along with me?( Yes Teacher) Okay everybody 1,2,3

sing!!

Well done everyone, can anyone of you name the things that you heard
in the song? ( Teacher red lips, red heart, red apples , red cherries ,and
red fruits) Very good . Now I will show you some of the things that are
color red. Can you name the different objects that are color red? ( Yes
teacher, Red Umbrella, Red dress, red car, ladybug, crab, red scissors,
pen ,and notebook) Well done children!.

Let us now sing the yellow song in the tune of “Are you sleeping”? Can
everyone sing along with teacher? ( Yes Teacher).

Well done everyone can you name the yellow things you hear in the
song?(Yes Teacher ,yellow corn, yellow mangoes, and yellow bananas)
Good Job everyone. Now here are some of the things that are yellow can
you name them? (Yes Teacher, yellow star, yellow sun, yellow

lemon ,car, duck ,banana and pumpkin,key,tulip,crayon,bee,crown

balloon).Well done everyone.

Let us now proceed to the Blue song to the tune of “ my toes my


knees” , can you again sing along with teacher ? (Yes Teacher)
Everybody let us sing!! Good Job everyone. Now can you name the
blue things you heard in the song? (Yes Teacher) What are they?
(Teacher Blue whale, blue sea and bluebird) Very good superstars!!

Now here are some things that are color blue , can you name them? (
Yes Teacher) What are the blue things that you see? ( Teacher a
bluebird, butterfly, sting ray ,balloon ,ribbon ,skirt, cupcake and
cherries, blue book , hand gloves, shirt, ship and cloud) Very good
everyone!!

COMPARISON AND ABSTRACT

Everyone we’ve had a lot of fun recognizing and sorting out the
different basic colors of red , blue , and yellow . Now I will show you
some pictures and objects , What color is this apple? ( Red Teacher)
Good job! I will show you a group of objects can you find another blue
object? ( Teacher the markers/highlighters are color blue) Very Good!
Now I’m coloring a picture. What color is this? ( Yellow Teacher)
Amazing , excellent observation everyone.

C. CONCLUDING PHASE – 10 minutes

I. Generalization

To wrap it up children, red, yellow, and blue are the special


primary colors. These three colors are like the “starter colors” that can
make all the other colors when we mix them together.

Just like how we learn to count with 1, 2, and 3 before we learn


bigger numbers, we start with red, yellow, and blue to make any color
we want! These colors are super important, and once you know them,
you can create a whole rainbow of color.
II. APPLICATION

A. GROUP ACTIVITY

The class will be divided into three groups, and each group will have a
different task related to Recognizing and sorting the basic colors red ,blue and
yellow . The difficulty will be based on the children’s understanding of the
basic colors.

DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION

Group 1 (Struggling Learners) Identify and associate the objects that are basic colors red, blue and yellow.

Group 2 (Averaged Learners) Recognize the objects that associate with red, blue and yellow.

Group 3 (Advanced Learners) Sort and organize objects with the basic colors red, blue and yellow.

Setting Of standards

Everyone how can we be super group players , what are some helpful things to
remember when working together?

GENERALIZATION
Pay attention, kids! Primary colors are the foundation of all other colors. They are
unique
because they cannot be created by mixing other colors together. All other
colors can be made by combining primary colors in different ways.

Let us try to answer another example :


Lily loved her new box of crayons. She carefully lined them up on the table. There was a bright red
crayon, a sunshine yellow one, and a deep ocean blue. She picked up the red crayon and drew a big,
round apple. Then, she chose the yellow crayon and colored in a sun. Finally, she grabbed the blue
crayon and drew a blue sky. Lily smiled. She loved all the colors!
