INTRODUCTION
1.1 PROJECT DETAILS
You can get a quick idea of this system from title name. Today, people are searching,
view and purchase product as per their requirement from different types of shopping site that
are available on internet.
FreshShelf.com uses the power of the internet to gives a best deal to the users. At this very
basic level it is particularly effective at getting a high level of response.
The real strength and power of FreshShelf.com is in using internet technology to not just
attract customers but to deal with them too. In this sense it is also about to give users the best
deals in product purchase in just a few seconds and they do it very easily from their home.

They don’t need to go to any shop.


FreshShelf.com provides all the users to see the facilities of product and they can purchase
any products as per their requirement. If any new facility and image is added to this site and
user can see that immediately.
In our system, we provide a facility to register new user by filling up the registration form
online. And whenever user logins he/she will order for purchase food products.

1.2 PURPOSE
The main purpose of this website is to provide easy assistance to both the customer as well as the
food product owner with proper database and information.

We want to provide a secure experience of online food products shopping to customer.

1.3 SCOPE
Selling products over the internet without the need of going physically to the market is what
online shopping all about online shopping is just like a retail store shopping that we do by going
to the market, but is done through the internet.

Food product shopping has made shopping painless and added more fun, online stores offer
product description, pictures, comparisons, price and much more, few example of these are
mtrfoods.com,haldirams.com and the benefits of food products shopping is that by having direct
access to consumer, the online stores can offer products that cater to the needs of consumer,
cookies can be used for tracking the customer selection over internet or what is of their interest or
what is of their interest when they visit the site again.

Online food products shopping makes use of digital technology for managing the flow of
information, products and payment between consumer site owners and suppliers.

Shopping cart is one of the important facility provided in online shopping, this lets customer to
browser different goods and services and once they select an item to purchase they can place the
item in shopping cart and continue browsing till the final selection.

Customer can even remove the items from shopping cart that where selected earlier before they
place the final order. It reminds us of shopping basket that we carry in departmental store.

 Registered User’s Area

 Register user can do various functions like search, view, add to cart, order etc.
 Register user can view are search categories of the product.
 Register user can view all the details of the product.
 Register user can add selected items to the cart.

 Administrator's panel

 Admin can login with login ID and password.


 Admin can do various functions through the site, almost everything.
 Admin can add, update, delete,view category and brand of the product.
 Admin can add, update, delete, brand and category name, details of food products.
 Admin can add, update, and delete all the details of product.

 Visitor’s Area

 Visitor can search, view all the details of product.


 Visitor can do free registration.

1.4 OBJECTIVES
The objective of the project is to make an application in JSP platform to purchase items in
an existing shop. In order to build such an application complete web support need to be provided.

A complete and efficient web application which can provide the online shopping experience is
the basic objective of the project. The web application can be implemented in the form of an JSP
application with web view.
