There are four seasons: winter spring summer and autumn (fall). Each season has different
weather and activities.
Winter (December January February)
Winter is very cold. In some places it snows. People wear warm clothes like coats and jackets.
Many people celebrate Christmas in December and New Year's Eve on December 31st. Some
people go skiing or ice skating. Anna and her family always visit their grandparents in winter.
Next winter they are going to visit Canada to see the snow.
Spring (March April May)
Spring is warmer. Flowers grow and trees turn green. People go outside and enjoy the fresh air.
Birds come back and the days are longer. Farmers plant food. Every year Tom plants flowers in
his garden. Next spring he will visit his aunt in the countryside.
Summer (June July August)
Summer is hot. Many people go to the beach and swim. Children do not have school. Families
travel to new places. Lisa is going to spend her summer at the seaside. She always eats ice
cream in the summer.
Autumn (September October November)
Autumn is cool. Leaves change color and fall. People go hiking and enjoy the trees. Farmers pick
food from the fields. Children go back to school. On October 31st people celebrate Halloween.
David likes autumn because he drinks hot chocolate. This autumn he is going to join a hiking
club. Next autumn he will visit a national park.
