Questions
1. What is Artificial Intelligence?
2. How was AI created?
3. What kind of things can AI do?
4. What benefits does AI have?
5. How dangerous can its use be?
6. How does it relate with teenagers?

Hypothesis
1. Is a system, which can give answers or elaborate difficult tasks in a fast
way, according to what humans ask for. We believe we can only find it in
computers, cellphones, etc.
2. For us, it was created by a group of people, being the main idea of only one
person. Also the process must have been really long and difficult.
3. Make songs, imitate voices, create pictures and videos, answer whatever
people ask to it, presentations, mind maps, comparative tables and much
more.
4. It facilitates people in everything. For example homework, organizing things,
it is fast and effective, it is never wrong.
5. It can falsify information such as fake pictures, fake audios, fake videos. etc.
For example, anyone can make a singer sing a song from another singer
and it also makes people think less.
6. Teenagers use it for not having to do their homework or home tasks so they
become lazy, they get used to not doing anything and they stop learning.

Glossary
 Chain: a set of connected events, usually where one causes the next.
 Revenue: income, especially when of an organization and of a substantial
nature.
 Doomsday: the end of the world, or a time when something very bad will
happen.
 Misconception: an idea that is wrong because it has been based on a failure
to understand a situation.
 Widespread: existing or happening in many places and/or among many
people.
Essay
Is Artificial Intelligence a friend or an enemy? AI is the only thing capable of
successfully imitating the intelligence of living beings, including the capacity of
writing or talking that were always exclusive of humans. Talking about
technological advancements, few innovations have captured the imagination and
potential for transformative change quite like AI. With its ability to mimic human
intelligence, it has emerged with significant force in various industries,
revolutionizing the way we live, work, and interact with the world and others around
us. Creators of Artificial Intelligence claim that it will surpass human intelligence in
less than 10 years, and it is known that for the first time in human history, AI is part
of our lives. ChatGpt is the newest and the most well-known example that has
made all this visible with the statistics compared to other large platforms, such as
Netflix, Twitter or Spotify, where it is shown that it took Netflix 3 years to get
1.000.000 users, 2 years for Twitter, 5 months took Spotify, but surprisingly, it took
Chat Gpt just 5 days to get the same amount of users. Thousands and thousands
of dollars are being invested around the world to improve artificial intelligence day
by day. It is for many the riskiest change our civilization has ever faced, while it is
for others the beginning of a more comfortable way of living, more scientific
advances. In this essay, we will develop how AI was created, its uses, advantages
and disadvantages, social impact, etc.
But, how was it created? Artificial intelligence is nothing new. The term was
coined in 1955 by John McCarthy and debated and discussed at the Dartmouth
Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence in 1955 by the founding fathers
of artificial intelligence. Since then, we have seen AI in hundreds of movies and
fictional stories from Star Wars and The Avengers to Bicentennial Man and Ex
Machina. Unfortunately, there is no agreed-upon definition of artificial intelligence.
Al system requires a foundation of specialized hardware and software for writing
and training machine learning algorithms. In general, AI systems work by ingesting
large amounts of labeled training data, analyzing the data correlations and
patterns, and using these patterns to make predictions about future states. In this
way, a Chabot that is fed examples of text can learn to generate lifelike exchanges
with people, or an image recognition tool can learn to identify and describe objects
in images by reviewing millions of examples.
Many people classify AI as “highly important” in the next five years, while
other people say “it is absolutely critical to success”. It will continue to present
massive opportunities for all humankind and be forced for good. By using machine
learning and deep learning ethically, we can all solve big problems not only in
manufacturing; we can make great progress on solving the world's problems. This
type of technology can benefit many people in nearly unlimited ways; it can make a
lot of tasks easier for humans and do it really fast. For example, more accurate
clinical imaging and diagnoses, fewer traffic accidents and resulting death and
improved retention through immersive learning. In addition, it offers several
benefits like automation of repetitive tasks, efficient data analysis, personalized
user experiences, and advancements in fields like medicine. On the other hand, if it
is not managed properly, it can pose risks such as job displacement, biased
decision-making, privacy infringement, skills gap, ethical concerns and social
inequalities. AI-powered job automation is a pressing concern as the technology is
adopted in industries like marketing, manufacturing and healthcare. As AI robots
become smarter, many tasks will require fewer humans; even professions that
require graduate degrees and additional post-college training are not immune to AI
displacement.
However, that are not the only negative points about AI, it also has a big
impact on kids and teens. When talking about AI we can say that it is everywhere,
on the internet, on social media, on smart devices or personal assistants like Siri
and Alexa. Today's youth have grown up with technology and they are constantly
exposed to what experts call weak AI. This is found in algorithms used to predict
responses such as recommendations of ads or videos specific to the user’s
interests. Furthermore, lots of teens are using AI to do all their homework or school
tasks using ChatGpt. This will have big consequences because they will don't have
the habits to study and be a determined person to do their tasks or develop their
ideas, for example. Adults should monitor the technology of kids and educate them
on the proper ways to use AI to prevent any negative impacts.
To conclude, artificial intelligence must be used with the utmost responsibility
since just as it can really help us in a lot of things, it can also harm us due to its
technological advance in these years and the next ones, hinting that in the future it
could leave humans out of work by reaching beyond human intelligence and
replacing them. Even so, its advantages are a good option when used correctly,
providing new opportunities and new experiences to humans. Furthermore, it is
important to know how to control it because as we said, in the future most things
will be found in technology and if we don't manage it properly it could provide the
recipe for a Third World War just with machines making decisions on how to attack,
who to attack and where to attack, combined with the ability to manipulate
networks, communications and security.
