Countdown Clock Setup

1 Clock
The Clock or Countdown clock can be used as a normal clock or countdown clock. By specifying
what you need the clock to do and be like, it can be used for basically anything. You can use it as
a New Year Countdown, or count down to the Draw for a Promotion, the usage is endless.
Let’s Start.

2 Trigger
Create a trigger, this trigger will be used for all clock or any format clock. It interacts directly with
the CIS Special Functions toll called “CISSpecialFN.exe”. This tool send the correct messages
according to Time and Date. Also this toll can be setup on any pc, as long as it can connect to
the server for the DB and Relay.
Create a new trigger. With exactly the following specs.

EXC = COUNTDOWN

NAME = CLOCK TEST

Save and close..


3 The Display (In Scheduler)
Create a Region anywhere on the display you need to show the clock. Drag and drop the Clock
component from the component version4 list.

Once the component are in, the properties can be set. As follows.

Setting up the clock to show the following


format.
Days Hours Min Sec = %D:%H:%M:%S
For the following format
Total Hours Min Sec = %T:%M:%S
Total Hours means, it will show the total hours
even if it is days from now. (103 Hours or so)
Drag and drop the clock trigger
created in the space provided for
the trigger.

Date Value Field “TARGET”

Make sure to tick Count Down


clock if this needs to be counting
down.

Make sure to pick a graphic font to


show the clock.

The Special Function Tool:

You will normally find the tool in C:\CIS\CISSPecialFN but as said it can be save any ware.

Edit the Config file.


Make sure the settings are correct for the Database connection to the correct Database and user.
Also make sure the pc have access to the CIS server or were the Relay is running.

Open the CISSpecialFN.exe

Use “Setup” to make sure the Relay settings are correct, if all in order the Relay Icon on the left
will go Green.

Select Count down Timers, and click on config.


Create a Name for the clock, and Time and date. Save and Save and exit.

The tool will now start to send the messages of the clock that was created to the relay for the
display.

The Relay messages will start appearing after about 30 sec..
