Power Optimization
ABSTRACT:
As energy consumption continues to rise globally, optimizing power usage has
become a critical priority for both residential and industrial applications.
Traditional energy management methods often lack real-time insights, leading
to inefficient power utilization and increased energy waste. This project
presents an IoT-Enabled Intelligent Energy Monitoring and Automated Power
Optimization System, which leverages Internet of Things (IoT) technology,
real-time data analytics, and AI-driven automation to enhance energy
efficiency, reduce wastage, and optimize power usage intelligently.
One of the key features of this system is its AI-driven automated power
optimization mechanism. By analyzing historical data and real-time inputs, the
system can predict energy demand, schedule power usage during non-peak
hours, and automatically turn off non-essential appliances when not in use. This
not only reduces unnecessary energy consumption but also helps in load
balancing, preventing power surges and reducing strain on electrical grids.
Additionally, the system integrates renewable energy sources, such as solar
panels, by optimizing energy distribution between grid power and stored
renewable energy, thereby promoting sustainable energy use.
The IoT-based energy monitoring system also enhances fault detection and
preventive maintenance by identifying anomalies in energy usage that could
indicate faulty appliances, power leaks, or potential electrical failures. In
case of an emergency, such as a short circuit or power overload, the system can
automatically trigger alerts or shut down affected circuits to prevent damage.
OBJECTIVE:
This system will allow users to remotely monitor and control their energy
usage through a mobile app or web dashboard, making it easier to manage
electricity consumption in homes, offices, and industries. It will also incorporate
AI-powered automation to optimize power distribution, schedule energy usage
during non-peak hours, and turn off unnecessary devices when not in use.
Additionally, the system will integrate with renewable energy sources (such
as solar panels) to efficiently balance energy from different sources, promoting
sustainability and reducing dependence on traditional power grids. It will
also include fault detection and preventive maintenance features, which will
help identify power leaks, faulty appliances, or abnormal energy consumption
patterns, ensuring safety and efficiency.
