A. Content Standard geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric
relationships.
is able to create models of plane figures and formulate
B. Performance Standard and solve accurately authentic problems involving sides
and angles of a polygon
Represent point, line and plane using concrete and pictorials models.
C. Learning Competency

(With Code)
1. Describe the undefined terms
D. Specific objectives 2. Give concrete objects that may represent the undefined
terms
II. Content Undefined Terms

IV. Procedures
Geometry
Comes from two Greek words, Geo means “earth” and Metron means
A. Reviewing previous lessons or
“measure.” Geometry means earth measures.
presenting the new lesson. A branch of Mathematics that deals with points, lines, angles and their
properties.
B. Establishing a purpose for the Why do we need to study geometry? Does geometry make sense in
lesson. your daily life? How?
C. Presenting examples / instances of Take a look on the objects inside the classroom, can you give me
the lesson those objects which represents a point, a line, and a plane.
D. Discussing new concepts and Undefined Terms
practicing new skills #1 1. Point
A point is a fixed location in space. It has no length, width, and
thickness. It is represented by a dot. It is named by a capital letter.
2. Line
A line is a set of an infinite number of points extending endlessly in
opposite directions. It is named by two capital letters or by using a
single lowercase script letter.
3. Plane
A plane is represented by any flat surface and the point on it extend
indefinitely in all directions. It has length and width but no
thickness. It is named by three non-collinear points on a plane or
a single uppercase script letter.
Collinear Points
Are points that are on one line
Non-Collinear Points
Are set of points that do not lie on the same line.
Coplanar Points
Are points that lie on the same plane.
Non-Coplanar Points
Are set of points that do not lie on the same plane.

*Present example for each Undefined Terms

*point- corner of a table
*line- edge of a table
*plane- surface of a table
Exercises: List down 5 other objects that could represent
a. Point
b. Line
c. Plane
E. Discussing new concepts and Questions to Ponder:
1.Consider the stars in the night sky, do they represent points?
practicing new skills #2
2.Consider the moon in its fullest form. Would you consider a full
moon a representation of a point?
3.A pencil is an object that represents a line. Does a pencil extend
infinitely in both directions? Is a pencil a line?

Group Activity: “Where do I Belong?”

1. Divide the class into 5 groups.
2. Each group should select their leader.
3. Every group should be given a set of materials for the
activity.
4. Instruct the students on what they are going to do.
5. Let each group post their work.
6. Together with the students compare their work.
F. Developing Mastery
(leads to Formative Assessment) Objects around us that could represent a point, line and plane
Blackboard laser corner of table electric wire
Intersection of a side wall and ceiling
Tip of a needle paper surface of a table
Edge of a able wall tip of a ballpen

G. Finding Practical application of

concepts and skills in daily living
What is a point, a line and a plane? How important are they in the
H. Making generalizations and
field of geometry? In your daily life?
Abstraction about the lesson
Ask the students to draw one object for every undefined terms.
