COURSE AIMS:

The course aims at introducing students to a variety of ICTs and equip them with the basic skills
on their usage. It also aims at acquainting them with current and future developments in ICTs so
that they are more effective in their work as information intermediaries and Information Managers.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course a student should be able to:


i. explain the major components of ICTs and its uses in society,
ii. explain the concept of a Digital World,
iii. demonstrate an understanding of the computer hardware and software,
iv. utilize basic application packages such as word processing and spread sheets,
v. demonstrate an understand basic Computer Networks,
vi. implement computer security measures,
vii. Use the Internet.
