It’s steaming... and rightly so!
So summer is here. The pool at the VOLO house is warm
enough (even in Norcal) to have wet & wild beauties in it
almost every weekend... LOL (Want to be part of the action,
follow us on @volomag to see the live streams) and I am
proud to release one of the hottest and classiest issues ever of
VOLO.

Photography in this issue is just par excellence, and the most

important thing is that we have managed to keep the pictures
incredibly hot, without making them pasty and monochromatic
(read bland and over photoshopped) like some of our eminent
peers in the industry.

We pride ourselves on keeping the raw authenticity of the

model (the true essence of a woman) alive on our pages and
I believe that my team has pulled that off perfectly in this
issue.

This is what red hot looks like from a womans perspective.

ed Sydney-based fine art photographer and
digital artist with a passion for
beauty and the natural environment.

His recent exhibitions include “H20” (Un-

derwater nudes), “Natural Curves” (digital art
combining nudes with natural textures) and
“Once Upon A Dream” (a fantasy series about
the Mermaids of Balmoral Beach).

Once the shoot was over, I discovered it’s much harder to remove the glitter
than might be expected. It was only sprinkled onto my skin, but even a wash
in the sea failed to remove it, so in the end, I traveled back from the shoot
dressed only in a bikini and my new glittery skin. (I finally washed the glitter
off in a public shower later that morning. I think the other people there are still
chatting about the girl with glitter all over her skin!)

I have never thought of myself as a goddess like Aphrodite before, but now I’ve
seen the shots, maybe I should change my views!

“My name is Manny Zervos. I bought my first DSLR camera in
2008. I’m am fully self-taught in all aspects of my work.
I have been passionate about shooting gorgeous girls in
natural settings ever since I was on a trip to Greece and had
the opportunity to shoot an amazing Ukranian girl nude that
produced my signature image that is now my logo. Since
then have been shooting all genres from fashion glamor edi-
torial as well as nudes.

I’m excited about the prospect of displaying my work on a

fantastic platform that Volo offers and look forward to submit-
ting much more of my work for publication to their wonderful
magazine.”

ANTHONY NESTE
Photographer Anthony Neste was born in New York, USA. He began his
career working in film and TV production as an assistant to many adver-
tising and commercial clients.

In the mid 70ís, Anthony started working for sports magazines and in
1980 he shot his first assignment for Sports Illustrated, which began a
steady 17 year working relationship with this brand on an incredible va-
riety of sporting events across the United States of America.

Around 1990 Anthony got involved with HBO doing everything from
publicity unit stills on movie sets to music concerts and comedy one
night stands. Anthony has photographed countless championship box-
ing matches, Wimbledon and inside the NFL sporting events. In 1999
Anthony became the photographer for the Sopranos and produced some
of the most memorable publicity photographs from that show during the
first two years.

For over thirty years his artistic style continues to produce a body of
work that is a unique blend of feeling, composition and color. Anthony
is now the Director of Photography for the newest Fitness, entertainment
and lifestyle magazine in Central Florida, ëFLORIDA FITí Magazine.. He
also enjoys working on model shoots that help new models develop their
portfolios and also experienced models that add variety to his overall
creative style.

Samantha Mathias, born and raised
in Tampa Florida has been mod-
eling for over 10 years. Started
at a young age with alexa model
and talent agency and has been
published multiple times nation-
ally and internationally. She also
has over 5 years experience rep-
resenting high end international
spirit brands, such as Barcadi,
jack Daniels and Grey Goose. Sa-
mantha has been published mul-
tiple times with Paul Mitchell and
Redken as a runway hair model at
the international beauty shows in
Orlando. Many endeavors ahead
for her future in modeling and act-
ing, she hopes to gain more ex-
perience in acting on films as well.

PERRY JULIEN
In his past life, Perry Julien was an alpine ski racer, moun-
taineer, surfer, and yogi. He also had a camera in his hands
since age 4, a byproduct of having a father who was a
professional photographer. A ski racing accident in 2006
created the opportunity for Julien to channel his energy and
adventure lifestyle back into his photography.

Nationally known for his live music photography, Julien is

equally passionate about capturing moments of real life in
epic locations such as Hawaii, New York City, California,
South America and India. As an artist he is drawn to the
spontaneity and immediacy of the photographic image; his
inspiration coming from the interaction between his sub-
jects, the passion and energy they project and the sur-
roundings he photographs in.

His work has been described as “photographs that tell a

story, yet leave the viewer with unanswered questions and
wanting to know more.”

Julien continues to travel extensively, seeking inspiration

from places and subjects that blend the boundaries be-
tween reality and fantasy, allowing him to be both an ob-
server and a participant in creating spontaneous and pro-
vocative images.

Her passion for art runs almost as
deep as her love for the ocean.
Model, Yogi, Acrobat, writer, com-
puter nerd, and seasoned hyphen-
ate of the visual arts, Alexis lives
for uplifting experiences – no com-
promises made. Jumping fences,
chasing sunsets, cracking coconuts
and laughing loud are just a few of
the things that make her smile. She
draws her life force from paddling
for small waves in the Maui waters,
listening to the sound of the ocean
against her board and breathing
in the smell of the salt water mist;
known in Hawaiian as “Ehu Kai” –
another reason to smile.

Emily is a young freelance model hailing from Bris-
bane, Australia. She’s currently undertaking her
second year of university, studying drama and film

“Hi, I’m Elias Monn; I’ve been shooting photos since I
can remember. I’ve loved capturing a moment in time or
a view that other might have missed or ignored. I try to
get the best possible images and sometimes do. I like
to laugh and joke in person. But when I’m shooting I
normally am more quite and focused on getting the shot.
Some people find this a little nerve rattling, but when
they see the photos, the understand why I’m not talking

This set took place at sunset on the beach in beautiful

Bali, Indonesia. We wanted to create a look of effortless
beauty and focus on Claire’s amazing curves to match the
curves of the coastline. One of the challenges with shoot-
ing on the beaches of Bali is that there is a particular
and quite small window when the tide goes out to when it
comes crashing in, so we had to time it perfectly to get the
tide and the sunset to join forces to make some amazing
photos.
 CLAIRE
Claire is an Australian model and
epitomizes the truly laid back,
natural “Aussie beach babe” ideal.

She was born in a small country

mining town in Western Australia
and spent her childhood moving
around a lot. In her late teens, she
came to find herself in the eclectic
and artistic hub that is Fremantle
where her creative career interests
flourished.

Working as a makeup artist, she

discovered the world of modeling.
Although she loved being be-
hind the camera, she found a real
passion for being in front of it.
Claire now spends equal time both
modeling and behind the scenes
on makeup, hair, and styling for
fashion and glamor shoots.

Today, when she’s not working or

studying fashion design, Claire en-
joys spending time in nature and
takes any opportunity she can to
go hiking or to the beach with her
partner and two dogs. Although
she leads an active lifestyle, she’s
an avid foodie and appreciates a
good bottle of red.

This set was photographed in one

of her favorite destinations, by a
photographer that she’s always
admired, on the tropical island
paradise that is Bali. And is a true
reflection of her style.

“Hi, I’m an Australasian photographic artist and digi-
tal media producer currently based in Bali, Indonesia. I
have a profound interest in the power of human sexuality
and love to work with the feminine form as a medium to
explore this. I have worked on both sides of the lens and
use this experience as the touchstone for my fusion style
of playful yet edgy glamor photography.

I have followed VOLO since the beginning as I love the

edgy style it has pushed which is a welcome contrast to
the constrictions of commercial photography. It’s great
to do commissioned pieces, but sometimes it’s nice to
put that all aside and concentrate on creating something
special which is what I hope to do here.
