BSMM 8320 Quantitative Methods Team Project Rubric

The BSMM 8320 Quantitative Methods Team Project Rubric outlines the learning outcomes and evaluation criteria for a final project involving business research questions, data analysis, and statistical methods. Groups are assessed on topic selection, hypothesis definition, descriptive statistics, data visualization, model creation, inferential statistical tests, and communication of conclusions. The project report must follow a specified outline and be limited to seven pages.

Project learning outcomes

1. Groups will identify business research questions and objectives; and answer those based on
analysis of qualitative and quantitative data they have obtained.
2. Groups will determine descriptive measures of central tendency and dispersion for data sets
they have selected and explain what they mean.
3. Groups will demonstrate understanding of the concept of probability by de@ining and
explaining the distributions of the variables they selected in their data set.
4. Group will model relationships between variables based on the objectives the set for
themselves.
5. Groups will set up and execute statistical tests for differences, similarities, correlations, and
the general models and explain what they mean.
6. Groups will explain the concepts of estimation and con@idence intervals and use them to
determine whether the sample size of their data sets is adequate to measure a statistical
outcome.
7. Groups will apply sampling techniques through the extraction of data subset from a large
database for analysis.
8. Groups will use data visualization techniques to explain their @indings.
9. Groups will demonstrate mastery of the software required to complete statistical analysis.
