INTRODUCTION
This calculation is based on Standard IEC-61869-2. The purpose of this calculate
report is to check the ratio and burden of the MV CT & VT of Sebzor Hydropower
Plant.

The following parameters is the basic parameter for this calculation.

Rated current of Ir=411.1A
generator
Rated current of Ir=17.5
auxiliary transformer
Max short circuit Ik=17.519kA
current at 6.6kV side

Note①: The calculation total load Cc of the CT is:
Cc=Cb+Cwire+Ccon= Cb+(ρcu*L/A)*In2+Rcon*In2
where Cb is the load of devices.
In is the rated secondary current of CT, here is 5A.
A is section of connection cable.
L is length of connection cable.

ρcu is the resistance coefficient, typically is 0.0184mm2/m.

Cwire is the capacity consumed by connection cable, Cwire=(ρcu*L/A)*In2=0.0184*L/A*52.
Rcon is the contact resistance. Typically is 0.1
Ccon is the capacity consumed by contact resistance,Ccon= Rcon*In2=0.1*52=2.5VA
The above formula and Rcon (contact resistance) is selected according to Chinese Standard DL/T 866-2015, “Code for selection and calculation
of current transformer and voltage transformer”.
2. CT selection Conclusion

According to the above calculation, we can see the ratio of the CT is suitable.
According to the IEC-61869-2, the actual secondary load of the CT should be within
25%~100% of the rated burden for measurement CT. Hence the selected CT can
fulfill the requirement.

Note: Considering the short circuit current level of 6.6kV system, the ratio of CT in
AT1/2 Feeder cubicle should be 200/5A (Smaller ratio cannot fulfil the short circuit
current requirement).

4. VT selection Conclusion
7
According to the above calculation, we can see total load device load is smaller than
VT burden. Hence the selected VT can fulfill the requirement.
