and the executive summary below presented to Organisation X, they approved the implementation
of the following energy saving solutions as provided by BeCool Sales and Distribution:

Energy Consumption Profile – Site Inspection

Be Cool has developed a very effective Physical Site Inspection methodology that is relatively simple and
quick, and does not require expensive and time consuming consumption measuring devices.

The site inspection determines and records the information for all electrical devices where energy savings
are possible. From this information, together with the current usage, we produce the consumption profile.

Occupancy Behaviour – Data Logger Report

Using special Data Loggers we can measure the occupancy behaviour of any office environment.

Data Loggers are installed in representative areas of the building to record the occupancy behaviour and
lighting on times. These devises record when the lights are “ON”, and when an area is “Occupied”. From
this data we can accurately determine the potential savings for a building.

12-L SARS Tax Incentive

 The 12-L Act is an allowance given to any commercial business or trading entity that can show measured
and verified energy savings that have been attained over 12 consecutive months. Taxable amount is reduced
by R 0.95 for every KWhr saved.

Be Cool assists the process of registering the projects with SANEDI (South African Energy Development
Institute), appointing SANAS accredited M&V agents to perform the required baseline and performance
assessment reports.

Airco Saver Air Conditioning Control Unit

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Cooling) accounts for about 50% of the energy consumption in a commercial
office environment.

This German designed and manufactured electronic controller increases the efficiency of single speed air-
conditioning units saving up to 30% on energy cost. Ten A/C units can be upgraded for the same cost as
replacing One unit with new generation inverter type A/C. The Airco Saver is quick and easy to install , and
requires no maintenance.

Air Conditioner Maintenance

We found that many A/C units are poorly maintained resulting in reduced efficiency as the coils and filters
become contaminated with dirt.

We offer maintenance service contracts that provide for regular cleaning and preventative maintenance to
ensure that A/C units work at optimum efficiency thus saving energy.

Occupancy Sensors

Sensors control lighting and air-conditioning when an area is not occupied. Savings of 60% to 80% are
achieved on lighting cost.

This solution provides the biggest energy cost saving benefits, far superior to Building Management Systems
(BMS) that are mostly time based. The sensors automatically turn lights and air-conditioning “OFF” if there
is no one in the area. They work passively and do not require maintenance or specialised skills to operate.

When you are in your office, the lights in the basement parking are not necessary. When you leave your
office for a meeting, the lights do not need to be consuming energy.

Once installed, the savings are immediate.
