Alchemy
Alchemy
The
experience for the alchemist is only the presentation on the material plane of an astral theory or
an appeal of spiritual forces.
Palingenesia, radium lamps, the resurrections of astrals are the real practical works of
alchemists assisted by spiritual guides. But these practical works of high spirituality cannot be
accomplished without material training, which differs from the current works of our most eminent
chemists. It is these works that you make available to studious readers with your usual talent. It
must be emphasized that the true hermetic work must be accomplished on three planes at the
same time and that it is thus different from a simple chemical work.
Labora, Ora and Inventes, says Khunrath. Oratory and the exercise of material or moral charity,
music and its action on the astrals, are necessary to the alchemist as much as the laboratory.
Your work comes on time. It will advance the time when the chemist and the alchemist will finally
understand each other and when the Science which is One will reconstitute itself intact by the
union of its two poles now separated."
-Papus
"Take the work of Raymond Lully, for example. What do we find there? Anything other than the
rules of this special art considered the sole concern of alchemists. In any serious work relating
to hermetic philosophy, we will indeed find: of the unity of the substance and the unity of the
plane. Hence the alchemical axiom: εν το παν. Everything is in everything.
A judicious application of the principles of the Hebrew Kabbalah combined with the Egyptian
and Gnostic tradition.
Also the studies were very serious and strong, long, transmitted by initiation by the master to
one or two favorite disciples and carefully hidden from the profane."
