LINEN DEPARTMENT
Basic Functions:

The Linen Department Staff is responsible for the effective management and maintenance of all linen and
textile services within the hospital. This position ensures that all patient care areas are supplied with clean, safe,
and appropriately processed linens while adhering to hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Summary:

1. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1 Linen Management: Receive, sort, and process soiled linens, ensuring efficient handling and
distribution throughout the hospital.
1.2 Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records of linen supplies. Monitor stock levels and assist
in ordering necessary items to ensure continuous availability.
1.3 Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of linens to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance
with hospital standards. Report any discrepancies or concerns to the supervisor.
1.4 Maintenance and Care: Operate and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper usage and
adherence to safety protocols. Perform routine checks and report maintenance needs as necessary.
1.5 Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of linen usage, processing times, and equipment
maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
1.6 Collaboration: Work closely with nursing and support staff to ensure timely delivery and collection of
linens. Communicate effectively to address any issues or special requests.
1.7 Training: Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members in linen processing procedures and
safety practices.

2.2.1 Monthly reports

Qualifications:

 Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


 Experience: Previous experience in linen services or a healthcare setting is advantageous.
 Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of laundry operations and safety protocols is a plus.

Educational Requirement:

 High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements:

 Previous experience in linen services or a healthcare setting is advantageous.
