Before we start our

discussion, I want to
remind you of 3
classroom rules.

1. Sit properly.
2. Listen carefully.
3. Participate actively.

ELICIT
“To introduce you to our topic
today, we will have an activity.
But before that, based on your
observations, on the pictures I
have shown you, what can you
say about the first group of
animals, how about the second
group?”

Student A: “The first group of

animals move in slow manner
while the second group of
animals move in a fast
manner.”

“Okay, good! So, the first group

of animals move slower while
the second group of animals
move faster.’

ENGAGE
Motivational Activity PINOY
HENYO with a twist: Guess My
Moves!

“At this point to we will have an

activity entitled Pinoy Henyo”.
“Here are the mechanics of the
game. Listen class.”

Mechanics: There will be two

players. Player 1 will be the
guesser and player 2 will be the
clue-giver. The main goal of the
game is for the guesser to
correctly identify the word given
by the clue-giver within a minute.
All: “Yes, Sir!”
“Okay. Did you understand? Are
you ready?”
All: “We’re ready Sir!”

of students--where they will
4th Word: Distance need to guess the word

5th Word: Direction velocity respectively.

“Okay good job class for “Ma’am, our topic for today is
guessing the words right! Now about speed and velocity.”
based on those words, did you
get any idea about what would
be our topic for today?”

“Okay that’s great! Today our

topics is about speed and
velocity.”

ELABORATE
“You know class, most objects
do not travel in constant speed,
meaning sometimes in a split
seconds the object might travel
slower or quicker. And so, it is
better to describe their speed as
average speed.”

Average Speed = total

The teacher may present the

following situations:
(Dani girl has travelled a total
distance of 18km with an
average speed of 6 km/h)

(Dani girl’s velocity is 0.67

km/h, East)

(Dani travelled a total

distance of 28 km with an
average speed of 4.7 km/h)
