Name: Reno Val A.

Dala Grade/Subject: Teaching science

Date:

i. Objective:

At the end of lesson, the students be able to:

a. Describe the different stages in the cycle of some animals.

b. Enumerate the changes animals undergo as they grow, and:
c. Compare the stages in the life cycle of organism.

ii. Subject Matter:

a. Lesson: Compare the life cycle of organism

b. References: 21st century science and health grade 4, lesson 4.2 page 83-87

c. Material: Cartolina, manila paper, marker, masking tape, flash cards, cut out
picture of organism that’s have a complete metamorphosis and incomplete
metamorphosis

d. Curriculum Integration: Science, Health, Art

iii. Procedures:
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preliminary Activities

i. Prayer

Let us pray first.

(one student will lead the prayer)

May I request someone to lead the

prayer

ii. Greetings

Good morning class! Good morning sir

iii. Checking of attendance

1. Drill

Class I have a pictures of organism and you will tell

me that if a organism start to an egg.

Are you ready?

YES TEACHER!
Okay good!
(the teacher show some picture of organism)

First picture, class what is this organism start to an

egg?

Sir yes it start to an egg

Correct!

Second picture, it is start to being an egg or not?

(the teacher show the next picture)

No teacher!

Very good!

2. Review

Class I’ve here some names of organism, you will

write Yes if the lay an egg then No if they not. Okay
get your notebook. Answer:

1. Butterfly 1. YES
2. Cockroach 2. YES
3. Turtle 3. YES
4. Frog 4. YES
5. Fly 5. YES
6. Ant 6. YES
7. Cow 7. NO
8. Cat 8. NO
9. Dog 9. NO
10. Carabao 10. NO
3. Motivation

Class have you know that every organism undergo yes sir
changes?

A butterfly what come first before it turn to a fully

grown organism?
yes teacher
First it will be an egg right?

Okay when the egg hatch it will call? larva or caterpillar

Very good
cocoon or pupa
Then next?

The last one? a fully grown butterfly

Very good class.

4. Presentation of the Lesson

Did you identify the changes of every organism? Yes sir

Okay class. What do you thick our lesson for today?

Its so called the life cycle of an organism teacher!
Correct!

And that’s what are we going to tackle about how to

compare the different stages of life cycle of every
organism.

5. Discussion

Okay, class listen first.

Metamorphosis, is a biological process by which an

animal physically develops after hatching or birth

Life cycle, a period involving one generation of an

organism.
It is a series of changes in form that an organism
undergoes, returning to the starting state
Insects, is part of nature most of them are small but
they help maintaining the balance environment.

They belong to the largest group in animal kingdom

they live a different places or habitat where they can
easily to adapt

Even they a small they are undergo a series of

development from an egg to a fully organism this
process is could metamorphosis

there are two type of metamorphosis

1. Gradual/incomplete metamorphosis
2. Complete metamorphosis

Complete metamorphosis, composed of four stages

of development

The first stage is egg, when a female insect lays an egg

Every insect start in this stage.
The second stage larvae, start when the egg hatches but
the insect do not look like an adult insect
The third stage pupa, larvae make a cocoon around
themselves and become a busy changing into adult form
The last stage called adult, after a period of time, the
larva is nothing like it was before and exist the cocoon as
an adult

Can you give some insect that undergo a complete

metamorphosis.

Very good!! Butterfly, mosquito, fly, bees, ants, flea, beetle, wasp
And about gradual or incomplete metamorphosis it
slightly different from a complete metamorphosis instead
4 stages.

Gradual/incomplete metamorphosis
Undergo three stages

It start with an egg like a complete metamorphosis

Then the second is called nymph, start when the egg

hatches and nymphs come out. It is look like a fully
grown adult

Then last adult, no longer shed exoskeleton and have

permanent wings
Their primary purpose is to mate and reproduce

Can you give some example of organism that undergo to Grasshopper, cockroach, lice
gradual/incomplete metamorphosis

Very good class!

6. Values Integration

Why do we need to appreciate the importance of living To fully understand the differences of the living
organism without being criticize by others.
organism?

Yes! We are a living organism that not fully develop some

of you will change like a butterfly Yes teacher!.

Do you like butterfly?

7. Independent Practice

Direction: list at least 5 living organism that have a

complete metamorphosis that you can see outside or
(the pupils will do their activity)
inside your house and give at least 2 gradual/incomplete
metamorphosis then give the stages of their life cycle.

I give you 5 minutes to finish the activity

Okay start!

8. Application

Class I will group you to three groups each group will be

given a different worksheet.

Criteria:
-Cooperation -30%
-Delivery -20%
-Presentation -30%
-Behavior -20%
TOTAL= 100%

Every group I will give you a picture of a living organism

you will Identify if it have a complete or incomplete
metamorphosis and you will draw the life cycle of it

Group 1

Group 2

Group 3
I’ll give you 10 minutes to do the activity

Are you ready class?

Yes we are!
9. Generalization (the student will do the activity)

How can you differentiate the complete and incomplete

metamorphosis, and how will you know if the organism
undergo to complete or incomplete metamorphosis?
Teacher, you will know if the one organism undergo
to four stage of life cycle that it came from the egg,
larva, pupa and to become a adult

iv. Evaluation And we can identify if it undergo to gradual or

complete metamorphosis if it undergo to nymphs.

Direction. Arrange the life cycle of the following:

1. Bee

1. Bee

2. Fly
2. Fly

v. Assignment

1. Write at least 5 (five) living organism that you can

see outside and inside your house and draw their life
cycle.
